Check Out Taylor Rollins’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Rollins.

Hi Taylor, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I used to be a teacher! I taught 5th and 6th grade for 5 years. After I had my oldest daughter in February 2020, I quickly learned that I could not continue working full time and being a good wife/mom. My husband and I made the leap for me to stay home, but I needed some way to supplement a portion of my lost income.

Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember and I told my husband I really thought I could make this hobby into a successful business! He cheered me on and it has been blessed tremendously. Now, my oldest is in school full time and I get to be home with my youngest daughter while still having something for me. It’s truly the best of both worlds!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not always been an easy ride. Going from a steady, salary income to a business that has slow and busy seasons throughout the year was an adjustment for our family. At the beginning it was also difficult to start fresh with my client base. I had several people who I had taken photos for that shared my business but it was still scary having to find clientele while also caring for my little one!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a portrait, branding, and wedding photographer located in Princeton! I love working with families, businesses, and newly engaged couples to create moments that will last a lifetime. I truly believe that photos are arguably THE most important way to freeze time in a tangible way. There’s something about going back and reminiscing on exciting times and to actually have images to look back on, not just your memories.

I think one of the things I’m most proud of is how I connect with my clients. Each and every one of them holds such a special place in my heart and I genuinely love getting to know them, no matter how long our session is. New moms hold an extra special place in my heart. When I had my oldest, I had awful postpartum depression. Getting to check in on mamas during their little one’s newborn session is one of my absolute favorite things.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love the versatility and backdrop options the surrounding cities have to offer! Whether a client is looking for a studio, an urban setting, or a nature background, there are several options to choose from that are all within a manageable vicinity!

One thing I don’t love about the city is the traffic. But who really likes sitting in traffic? Haha!
