Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Peña.
Alexis, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have been a registered nurse for 9 years, almost 10 this September! I spent the majority of my career working in a pediatric Emergency room. I have always had a passion for caring for people since I was a little girl. I am a first-generation college graduate and the first in my family to earn a bachelor’s degree. I love education, and I believe it’s one of the biggest things you can do for yourself! I was introduced to the world of aesthetics around 2020, and I quickly fell in love! I have always struggled with my confidence so to be able to help other people boost their confidence with aesthetic procedures is amazing. Not only do I help them boost their appearance, but I get to develop amazing connections with my patients. I worked in a med spa for 2 years, which led to me opening my own business!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has always been a challenge! Preparing for nursing school, nursing school itself, and then actually being a nurse! It takes a lot of hard work, patience, and sacrifice to prepare and get through nursing school. Once you get through nursing school you have to learn to be a nurse! Nothing can prepare you for nursing; the only way you learn is through experience and actually going through it. I will say it takes a lot of humility to survive. But it is one of the most rewarding professions. I am also a single mom; I’ve had to navigate through motherhood and try my best to excel in both my career and being a mom. Starting a business takes a lot of work, and it is stressful. My strength is math and science. Having to learn about business has been a big learning curve for me but I’m getting the hang of it! Just like anything new, it’s always challenging at first.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Tejas Beauty Nurse?
I am the owner of Alexis Pena RN Aesthetics, but everyone knows me as Tejas Beauty Nurse. I specialize in natural enhancements with aesthetic treatments such as Botox and filler. My main job is to enhance people’s faces in the most natural way possible, my goal is to always provide natural lasting results, I always tell my patients, I want you still look like yourself, just refreshed. I am authentic, and I love setting realistic goals for my patients. I provide a lot of education! These treatments are big and require a lot of precision and attention to detail. I am most proud of how much people respect my craft and refer me to their friends and families. I love that my space is a safe space for A lot of people and people always feel welcomed and comfortable with me. I have years of education, knowledge, and experience behind me, and I feel that is what makes me the provider I am today. I continue to seek new education and expand my skills; it is important to me to provide the safest care to my patients.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My daughter has been a huge driving force in my career! I strive to be the best example for her and for her to be able to look up to me as a good example of what a good and honest woman is. My faith is also a big force in my life. Without God I wouldn’t have anything, I believe each season of life I’ve gone through has set me up for the next and all of it has been divine. I’ve always had these big dreams for my life, and I continue to always seek improvement within myself and to help those around me the best I can. I believe nothing is by mistake, and everything has its reason. My parents have taught me so much and are a big force in my values. They always stressed the importance of education since I was little. They are the prime examples of what hard work and sacrifice are. I’ve always admired that about them, and it has stuck with me all these years. My patients are a BIG driving force if not, they are, the driving force of my business, without their support I would not be able to have a business. I cannot express enough how grateful I am to be in the position that I am in now and to be able to meet all the amazing people that I do!
