Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Kendall.
Amanda, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In January of 2021, I was looking for a Happy 16th Birthday yard sign for my daughter. I wasn’t able to find an over-the-top sign that would meet her approval. I thought to myself “What if I set it up?” I didn’t tell anyone I was starting a yard sign business until all the inventory was delivered to my front porch. I bought enough inventory to make all of my 3 kids birthday signs in January, February, and March. I thought well if this doesn’t go as planned the kids will have a birthday sign every year! My husband thought I was crazy, my kids laughed and everyone else had no clue what yard signs were! After a short few months of starting Kendall Kreationz, I attended a yard card convention that offered a balloon class. The balloon class was my match! I loved every part of it and knew immediately this would be added to the business! Since then, I have added backdrops and marquee numbers/letters! We have officially hit our 1-year mark with our small business and couldn’t be more proud of what we have created to help bring visions to life!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have definitely been challenges along the way!
I still work a full-time job, so finding the balance of working full-time and having a small business has been the biggest challenge for sure!
Another challenge was learning how to say no. I am a people pleaser and want to make time for everything and everyone but knowing when the plate is full and having to say no was definitely another challenge!

You know those over-the-top balloon setups you see on reality tv like the Kardashians? Yep, I create those types of balloon visions both big and small!
What sets Kendall Kreationz apart from others is that I support small businesses, I support the businesses that offer the same services that I offer as well! I am known for collaborating with fellow balloon and yard carders in our area! There is enough business to go around! I am most proud that I have normalized collaboration over competition!
Kendall Kreationz offers yard signs, balloon garlands/arches, backdrops, and Marquee letters/numbers!
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey is analyzing each completed project. Analyze what worked, what didn’t, and what we can do better to make sure we don’t make the same mistake twice.
