Today we’d like to introduce you to BRIANA BASS.
Hi BRIANA, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve lived two very different careers. In my first life, I was a corporate executive. I knew what it meant to perform at a high level, to chase results, and to look “successful” on paper…while quietly burning out inside. I watched the same thing happen to people around me: ambition driving anxiety, relationships unraveling but acting “okay”, and no one knowing how to talk about it or solve it.
That’s when I realized the problems weren’t just business problems. They were human problems. And the solutions people were reaching for…the quick-fix self-help books, the motivational fluff…weren’t cutting it.
So I walked away from the boardroom and went all in on human behavior. I earned my Masters in Clinical Mental Health, became a therapist, and eventually became a Board Certified Clinical Sexologist which took 40+ PhD. classes and many hours of case consultation and supervision. Today, I run a private practice right here in Dallas, where I specialize in couples counseling, men’s issues, and modern life from dating to loneliness – the things most people are too embarrassed to admit they’re struggling with.
What makes my work different is simple: therapy with me isn’t passive. I’m not here to nod while you vent. I work towards a “before-and-after moment” because the work is direct, evidence-based, and designed to actually move the needle. About 40% of my clients are men – men are craving a space where they can talk about intimacy, loneliness, and pressure without being judged.
Now, alongside my practice, I consult, I speak, and I’ve been featured on podcasts across the country – helping people cut through the noise of modern dating and reconnect with what actually makes relationships and “happiness” work. My mission is to make therapy feel less like a chore and more like a real, transformative investment in your life.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Of course it hasn’t been smooth. Anything worth doing rarely is.
Walking away from a stable corporate career was terrifying. On paper, I had it all figured out but in reality, I was restless and unfulfilled.
Then there’s the challenge of building a therapy practice that doesn’t look like everyone else’s. Most people expect therapy to be quiet nods and long silences. I knew I wanted to disrupt that…to create a space that was direct, modern, and incorporated neuroscience. But doing something different means not everyone gets it right away or we’re a fit. I had to be comfortable being misunderstood, even dismissed at times.
And honestly? One of the biggest obstacles has been cultural. We live in a world drowning in self-help fluff, social media advice, and people branding themselves as “experts” without the depth or training. Cutting through that noise…and convincing people that real, evidence-based therapy is worth the investment, has been a constant uphill climb.
This cultural shift makes me double down on what I stand for: no shortcuts, no fluff, no pretending things are fine when they’re not.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My clients come to me because they’re self-aware, likely ambitious, self-critical and tired of chasing superficial solutions that don’t actually work. They don’t want to just “talk about their problems”…they want to break patterns, improve their relationships, and actually feel different in their day-to-day lives.
What I’m known for is being direct. I hope that clients describe therapy with me as a “before-and-after moment.” I hope it’s not passive, it’s not fluff, and it’s not one-size-fits-all. I specialize in modern life from burnout to withdrawal, couples counseling, men’s and women’s issues, and the very real pressures of life today – dating fatigue, loneliness and emotional regulation. Roughly 40% of my practice is men, and it speaks to the fact that men are craving spaces to talk about intimacy, self-worth, and relationships in a way that feels intelligent and safe, not stigmatized.
What sets my brand apart is that I bridge two worlds: the sharpness of my corporate background and the depth of my clinical expertise. I’ve worked to combine strategy and authentic empathy. I work to embody evidence-based therapy, neuroscience, and direct conversation, not cookie-cutter worksheets, or buzzy one-liners.
I hope to merge emotional intelligence and empathy with no-BS transformation.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love how Dallas people are ambitious, pretty neurotic, and always pushing for more. We just don’t settle. You can’t open a restaurant here with killer vibes and mediocre food…we’ll eat there once, tell everyone it’s overrated, and move on. That kind of energy keeps the city sharp, innovative, and we are growing at an insane pace. I love that we attract people who want to build, create, and push limits.
What I like least? We are seriously lacking when it comes to nature. We have to fight to find green space (that isn’t flat), and even if we had more of it…half the year it’s too hot to enjoy. Lame!
