Community Highlights: Meet Faith Winston of Ceres Monae

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Faith Winston.

Faith Winston

Hi Faith, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
After graduating from college in 2020, I faced challenges in finding a job in fashion design. So, I began crafting one-of-a-kind handbags, driven by a deep passion for creativity and uniqueness.

In 2022, I established the brand, which truly blossomed as I embarked on a profound spiritual journey. This transformative experience inspired me to infuse my newfound insights into fashion and lifestyle, creating a brand that harmoniously blends spirituality, sustainability, and innovation.

The brand represents a holistic approach, where traditional techniques meet modern sensibilities, resulting in pieces that are both timeless and forward-thinking. By sharing these handcrafted pieces, I hope to inspire others on their own spiritual journeys and offer them something truly special.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not been a smooth road. I try to find a balance, but sometimes that’s a constant struggle. I try to create a system that works best for me for a work-life balance, and I am still trying to work on it.

As you know, we’re big fans of Ceres Monae. What can you tell our readers who might not be as familiar with the brand?
Ceres Monae is a fusion of uniqueness and innovation coupled with chic sophistication. Very drawn to muted tones that exude understated elegance, allowing the designs to speak volumes through subtlety. What sets my brand apart is that I empower people to embrace their authentic selves, recognizing that true uniqueness is the ultimate expression of style.

The mission extends beyond fashion and aims to inspire individuals to embark on their own spiritual journeys, guiding them toward self-discovery and personal fulfillment. Most of the products are crafted in-house in Dallas, and the use of deadstock and sustainable materials such as leather, bamboo, and lyocell is prioritized.

I’m proud of what the brand has come to today, as I’m extending it more in creativity and craftsmanship.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
I was lucky to have a pop-up at Nordstrom, which partnered with the 15 Percent Pledge last year to showcase Black-owned businesses. It was truly a blessing.
