Community Highlights: Meet Jessica Esteves of Aura Lagree

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Esteves.

Hi Jessica, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always wanted to have something of my own, I could never figure out what that was. I didn’t really have some huge calling like people say they have, one thing that defines them, that wasn’t really me. There are two inspirations behind opening my Lagree studio, the first one being my sweet angel daughter – Vivienne. Becoming her mother has made me into the woman that was confident enough to open her own business. It made me passionate about providing her with the best life possible and being an example of what it looks like to chase your dreams. Second was moving to Van Alstyne, it’s so far away from any fitness studio. I was previously going to Urban Core in Plano and the drive became too much. One day at work I was just daydreaming about having a cute little studio of my own and what it would be called – and specifically what the logo would look like. I designed a logo and put it right underneath my monitor. From there the universe seemed to align and put opportunities too good to pass up in front of me for what has today become Aura Lagree!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Certainly not! My husband and I tried to renovate the studio ourselves, which took away any desire we may have had to renovate anything else! So many things were so much more involved than we thought and ended up having to hire a contractor to finish us off a few days before the grand opening – so that was stressful. The learning curve of becoming an instructor, a business owner, a social media guru, a financial expert – the person you must become has been something that has been more challenging that I would have anticipated. All that to say, this is my absolute dream come true – nothing worth having comes easy after all.

As you know, we’re big fans of Aura Lagree. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I own a Lagree studio – Aura Lagree! We’re located in a small town, Gunter. The community is something that is a dying breed, all of the businesses and people support each other. The community of woman at the studio is incredible and sweet and kind and it’s been an absolute pleasure getting to know these girls. My studio is inviting with good vibes all around. Lagree is a kick ass workout, one of the best in my opinion (I might be a bit biased). Not only will you create your best self physically, here you can also strengthen your aura!

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I have always been very artistic and creative and a mother at heart. In my friend group I was always the “mom” of the group, responsible and mature beyond my years. Every year since I was 15 and still to this day I go to Cottonwood art festival in Richardson, it’s one of my favorite events. I love the beautiful clouds in the sky, taking photos of everyday things that can be amazing if you take the time to slow down and look. Growing up I always saw the beauty, I had a small group of friends, didn’t party or be a wild child. I painted and hung out in creeks and enjoyed time with people I loved!
