Today we’d like to introduce you to Kia Lusk-Caldwell.
Hi Kia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up with a passion for sports and knew early on that I wanted a career connected to athletics. I earned my degree in Sport Management from The University of Texas and later attended Baylor Law School, where I developed the legal skills that would become the foundation of my career.
For more than a decade, I’ve practiced law in highly regulated industries, focusing on banking, consumer finance, compliance, and risk management. While I enjoyed the legal profession, sports remained a passion that never left me.
As NIL opportunities transformed college athletics, I saw a growing need for athletes to have trusted advisors who could help them navigate contracts, business opportunities, and long-term career decisions. That realization led me to launch Supra Sports Management.
Today, I serve as both an attorney and a certified player agent, helping athletes maximize opportunities while protecting their interests. My goal is to ensure athletes understand the business side of sports and are empowered to make informed decisions that benefit them both on and off the court. At the same time, I’m a wife and mother of three boys, so building a business while balancing family and a demanding legal career has taught me a tremendous amount about discipline, faith, and perseverance.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been building a sports agency while maintaining a full-time legal career and raising a family. There are only so many hours in a day, and learning how to prioritize effectively has been essential.
Another challenge has been entering an industry where relationships and reputation matter tremendously. Building credibility takes time, consistency, and a willingness to continue learning. There are no shortcuts.
I’ve also learned that entrepreneurship requires patience. Success rarely happens overnight. There are moments when opportunities don’t materialize the way you hoped, but those experiences teach resilience and often lead to better opportunities down the road.
Through every challenge, my faith, family, and commitment to serving others have kept me grounded and motivated.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Supra Sports Management, LLC?
Supra Sports Management is a boutique athlete representation and consulting firm built on the belief that athletes deserve an advocate who will educate, empower, and protect them throughout their journey.
As both an attorney and certified sports agent, I bring a unique perspective to athlete representation. I help high school, collegiate, and professional athletes navigate NIL opportunities, contract negotiations, brand partnerships, career planning, and the business side of sports. My legal background allows me to break down complex agreements and help athletes and their families make informed decisions with confidence.
What sets Supra apart is our relationship-first approach. We are not focused on simply signing athletes or chasing the next deal. We are focused on helping athletes build sustainable careers and strong personal brands while protecting their long-term interests. I want every client to understand what they are signing, why it matters, and how it impacts their future.
We are also deeply committed to serving the whole athlete. Success is about more than what happens on the court or field. It is about preparing for life beyond sports, developing leadership skills, managing opportunities wisely, and creating a lasting legacy.
Brand-wise, what I am most proud of is the trust we have built with athletes and families. Many of the individuals we work with are navigating life-changing decisions, and being trusted to guide them through those moments is a responsibility I do not take lightly.
I want readers to know that Supra Sports Management was built with purpose. Our mission is to help athletes maximize opportunities while staying true to who they are. We believe that when preparation, hard work, faith, and opportunity come together, incredible things can happen. That belief is reflected in our motto: Where Hustle Meets Opportunity.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Most people are surprised to learn that becoming a sports agent wasn’t a career pivot for me—it was actually the goal all along.
I earned my degree in Sport Management because I knew I wanted to work in sports. Life took me on a path through law school and a successful legal career, but sports was always the destination. Looking back, every step prepared me for what I do today. The legal knowledge, contract negotiation experience, and advocacy skills I developed as an attorney now allow me to serve athletes in a unique way.
People are also often surprised to learn that I built Supra Sports Management while maintaining a full-time legal career and raising three boys. Entrepreneurship, motherhood, and a demanding profession don’t always leave much free time, but they have taught me discipline, resilience, and the importance of staying focused on your purpose.
What many people see today is the sports agent. What they don’t always see are the years of preparation behind the scenes that made this opportunity possible. Supra wasn’t built overnight—it was built through years of education, professional experience, faith, and a commitment to helping athletes succeed both on and off the court.
