Today we’d like to introduce you to Matt Chalmers.
Hi Matt, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Dr. Matt Chalmers, and for nearly 20 years I’ve dedicated my life to understanding how the body truly heals and performs at its highest level. My journey into health and wellness began after a serious football injury in high school left me barely able to walk. After going through multiple medical specialists without answers, a chiropractor identified the problem almost immediately and helped me recover within days. That experience completely changed the direction of my life and led me to ask a question that still drives me today:
“If the body can heal this quickly when the right problem is corrected, what else are we missing?”
That question sparked an obsession with physiology, biochemistry, neurology, metabolism, hormones, nutrition, and human performance. For years I woke up before dawn studying how the body actually works—not just how to manage symptoms, but how to restore true function and health.
Today I combine chiropractic, clinical neurology, sports medicine, hormone optimization, peptide therapies, functional medicine, and metabolic restoration into a comprehensive systems-based approach to wellness. I hold certifications in Clinical Chiropractic Neurology, Chiropractic Sports Medicine, Spinal Decompression, Quantum Reflex Analysis (QRA), and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). I’ve worked with everyone from chronic pain patients to high-level athletes, focusing on helping people restore energy, improve performance, optimize hormones, reduce inflammation, and improve long-term quality of life.
I’m also the founder of Pillars of Wellness, a health framework built around the belief that true wellness requires balance in the chemical, physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of life. I’m the author of the best-selling book Pillars of Wellness, a TEDx speaker discussing alternatives to opioids and chronic pain management, and the host of The Dr. Chalmers Show, where I educate people on health, longevity, and human performance.
At the center of everything I do is one core belief:
“The Power That Made The Body, Heals The Body.”
My mission is to help people restore the body back toward the way it was originally designed to function so they can achieve the highest quality of life for the longest quantity of time.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
HAHA no. Most of what the standard medical establishment has been saying for the last 50 years is wrong. Getting people to understand that has been difficult, however, after covid it is getting easier. Most of the information, tools, and techniques to practice this way I have either had to create or go find in research myself. Getting kicked off social media and having google suppress my listings due to posting how I was successfully treating covid was probably the hardest part lately.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Chalmers Wellness?
At Pillars of Wellness, we take a systems-based approach to health and performance. Instead of focusing only on symptoms, we look at how the body is functioning as a whole—chemically, physically, mentally, and hormonally—to help patients restore energy, improve recovery, reduce inflammation, optimize metabolism, and improve overall quality of life.
What sets us apart is the combination of disciplines we bring together under one philosophy. We integrate chiropractic, clinical neurology, hormone optimization, peptide therapy, metabolic health, nutrition, supplementation, sleep optimization, and performance-based functional medicine into individualized care plans designed to help people function at a higher level long term.
Over the last nearly 20 years, we’ve become known for our work in metabolic restoration, hormones, peptides, chronic inflammation, body composition, and human performance. We work with a wide variety of patients—from individuals struggling with fatigue, pain, and weight issues to athletes, executives, and people focused on longevity and optimization.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of building something that stays centered around education and empowerment. I’m the author of the best-selling book Pillars of Wellness, gave a TEDx Talk on alternatives to opioids and chronic pain management, and have developed supplement systems and wellness protocols that are now used well beyond our office. I also teach hormone optimization and peptide therapy to medspas and medical offices through one of the pharmacies I work with, helping providers better understand the science and clinical application behind these therapies.
At the core of our brand is a belief that has guided everything we do:
“The Power That Made The Body, Heals The Body.”
We believe the body is designed to heal when given the right environment, chemistry, nutrients, movement, recovery, and support—and our goal is to help people restore health in a way that improves both the quality and quantity of life.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Find the people that are already doing the things you want and living the life you want and have them work with you. You have to understand that if you are being mentored the goal is to change who you are into who you want to be so you need to be accepting of change.
The thing that has worked well for me in networking is being the best person suited for the work you do. I have spent over a decade reading research articles, physiology textbooks, and working with people so I have built a knowledge base that allows me to be helpful to a large group of people. Then as I meet new people its easier for them to recommend me to their friends.
