Community Highlights: Meet Myrah Mancha of Skin Like Myne Aesthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Myrah Mancha

Hi Myrah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was 23 when I started my business. The medical spa I was employed at let me go without a notice. I was the spa coordinator, doing my part managing the reception area, performing services for clients and building my clientele. It was my very first job as a licensed esthetician, so I learned a lot. After I was suddenly let go, I knew I had a purpose. During that time, I struggled with acne for the first time in my life. I would let it define me, so mentally I struggled a lot. Depression, anxiety, you name it. Especially after being let go so suddenly, I questioned if I was even good enough to be in this field. I compared my skin to others and wanted to make a change and I did. It’s all about patience, discipline, and dedication to yourself. So my goal was to help others who struggle with their appearance like I did. With my knowledge and experience, I was able to do just that. My mission statement is to encourage confidence with ethical and results driven in aesthetics. To truly heal clients from within. For me it’s more than just providing services and ethical skincare. It’s giving others the confidence to love the skin they’re in. I’m now 4 years as an solo entrepreneur at Skin Like Myne Aesthetics, a Acne and Pigment Specialist changing the lives of many!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No. I was so young. I gained some knowledge on how to run a business from the medical spa however I didn’t realize it’s way more than rescheduling and booking new clients. It’s me who represents my business so I knew I had the confidence and drive to make it out on my own. But finding that sole purpose was confusing at first. There’s so much that happens behind the scenes that no one understands or sees. Your mentally well being is constantly being tested. I’m very hard on myself and a perfectionist, so if you know what that’s like, it’s very difficult to come out of. I take so much pride in my career and the business I’ve built. It’s not always ran soothly. But one thing I’ve always done is give it to God after every mental breakdown, crying so much, and overthinking my career. I knew putting him first in all I do, also applied for my business. I had faith he was going to provide all I needed, in the good times and bad. I did it all on my own, I conducted my own research and just went with what I knew. Still a new esthetician in the industry I welcomed God on this journey and just had faith. It’s been a lot, however my passion and purpose came to me and once that fire in me was there, I haven’t stopped.

As you know, we’re big fans of Skin Like Myne Aesthetics . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am a Licensed Medical Esthetician, specializing in Acne, Pigment,
common skin conditions that are affected by inflammation such as rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, aging and Melasma. I provide combination treatments that are ethical and result driven. Along with personalizing skin regimen for clients with acne, and overall skin concerns. Knowledge is power and I go above and beyond for my clients with continuing education and always staying up to date with the newest technologies in medical aesthetics. What I love about my field is I’m able to add as many certifications as I would like. I became an acne specialist with face reality and that has changed my business within a year. I was able to change so many lives of people that were affected by acne just like I was.. so being able to provide services and have the knowledge to create a customized skin care and give my clients the results they strive for is really what makes me the happiest. When it comes to partnering with different brands and bringing them into my business, I really conduct research and experience the products before hand because I really strive for those results for my clients. It’s very hard to be on top of things as an aesthetician. Our industry evolves every single day there’s always new technologies, new machinery. So you constantly have to research. It’s always continuing education. I will say not everybody can do it, and everybody is different, which I love that. We are all unique in our own way and I’ve loved meeting and networking with different aestheticians on social media from different parts of the world we get to learn from each other and help each other And I love it. I was told from a rep that I have something that not a lot of people have and that I would one day become aesthetician of the year at a tradeshow that hosts awards. I was taken back because I know that I am different and I truly care about my clients and creating that relationship with them. It’s very special to me. I love helping people and being in this industry you help so many people gain the confidence they were missing. So being able to create a safe space for my clients has been one of the most rewarding in these last four years.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
If not now then when. I always think about that. Success comes within you and the passion you have to become successful. It’s not an easy road at all but it’s a beautiful one. I look back at the difficult moments as from growing up as a young adult to now, and I did struggle but my passion got me through. My purpose of my business and my mission behind my success is from me. It’s all starts with you. I turned my pain into power in a mist of my personal growth and that has opened so many doors of possibilities to stay on this road of success.
