Today we’d like to introduce you to Omar.
Hi Omar, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started Texas Junk Boys back in 2023 with a good friend of mine. We were looking for a side business we could run on the weekends to earn some money and start saving up for college. We decided to go into general junk removal and hauling, beginning with a small utility trailer and advertising to family, friends, and neighbors that we could remove and haul off their junk.
Fast forward to today, and we now operate two dump trailers and are branching out into the dumpster rental business. We’ve served over 500 clients throughout the area, especially in the Burleson and Crowley communities. In the beginning, it was a lot of trial and error, and there was plenty of opportunity to fail — especially because we were so focused on school and didn’t always have the time, transitioning from full-time high school students into our first year of college. But sooner than later, we started to see real potential in the business and decided to fully commit to it. Today we run a pretty successful operation that we’re proud of.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. The biggest struggle early on was balancing the business with school. We were full-time high school students at the time, transitioning into our first year of college, so the time simply wasn’t always there. There was a lot of trial and error in those early days, and plenty of opportunities to fail. Learning how to run a real business while juggling classes and homework meant we had to figure things out as we went — from pricing jobs and scheduling around school, to handling the physical demands of hauling junk with just a small utility trailer. Pushing through those challenges is ultimately what showed us the real potential in the business and motivated us to keep going and grow it into what it is today.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Texas Junk Boys?
Texas Junk Boys is a junk removal and hauling company serving the greater Dallas–Fort Worth area, with a strong focus on the Burleson and Crowley communities. We specialize in removing and hauling off all kinds of junk for homeowners and businesses, and we’re now expanding into the dumpster rental side of the business to give our customers even more options.
What sets us apart is our story and our work ethic. We started this company as a two-person operation with a single small utility trailer while we were still students, and we’ve grown it through hard work into an operation running two dump trailers that has served over 500 clients. We’re proud to be a young, locally rooted business that customers can count on for reliable, friendly, and affordable service. What we want readers to know is that when you hire Texas Junk Boys, you’re supporting hardworking local guys who genuinely care about doing the job right and treating every customer and their property with respect.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I’d say starting a business at all is a risk, and for us it was a big one. When my friend and I launched Texas Junk Boys, we were full-time students putting our own time and money into something with no guarantee it would work. We could have just focused on school or spent our weekends like everyone else, but we chose to bet on ourselves instead.
To me, taking risks is about seeing potential and being willing to put in the work to chase it, even when failure is a real possibility. We took risks at every stage — investing in our first utility trailer, then upgrading to two dump trailers, and now branching out into the dumpster rental business. Each of those decisions meant putting money and effort on the line before we knew the return. But every time, we believed in the opportunity in front of us, and pushing through that uncertainty is exactly what allowed the business to grow. I think calculated risks, backed by hard work, are what separate the people who talk about ideas from the people who actually build something.
