Today we’d like to introduce you to Ricquie Ross.
Hi Ricquie , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My fitness journey started because I was tired of feeling uncomfortable in my own body and wanted to take control of my health. I committed to making sustainable lifestyle changes by improving my nutrition, staying consistent in the gym, and showing up even on the days I didn’t feel motivated. Along the way, I documented my progress on social media to hold myself accountable and inspire others. Through that journey, I’ve lost over 60 pounds and built a community of people focused on health and consistency. As I became more active, I realized there was a need for products that supported recovery and everyday movement, which inspired me to create BODYD, a wellness brand centered around recovery balms and self-care products. BODYD is a reflection of my own journey—from becoming healthier to creating something that helps others feel their best. My goal is to continue inspiring people by showing that discipline, consistency, and taking care of yourself can truly change your life.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey has definitely not been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges was staying consistent. Like many people, I would start a fitness routine, lose motivation, and have to start over. Balancing a full-time job, college, and building healthier habits often made it difficult to prioritize myself. There were also times when the scale didn’t move as quickly as I wanted, which was discouraging. Instead of giving up, I learned that lasting results come from discipline, not motivation. Those challenges also inspired me to create BODYD because I experienced firsthand how important recovery and self-care are when you’re trying to stay active. Looking back, every obstacle taught me patience, consistency, and the importance of trusting the process, and those lessons have shaped both my personal growth and my business.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My fitness journey started because I wanted to take control of my health and build a better life for myself. After losing more than 60 pounds, I discovered that recovery is just as important as training. I was constantly looking for products that could help with sore muscles and joint discomfort while fitting into an active lifestyle, but I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for. That experience inspired me to create BODYD.
BODYD is a wellness brand built around practical recovery products that help people keep moving. Our signature Recovery Balm was created to make muscle recovery simple, effective, and convenient for athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and anyone living an active lifestyle. Every product is inspired by real-life experience and made with the goal of helping people feel their best.
As BODYD prepares for its official launch, my vision extends far beyond creating recovery products. I want to build a trusted wellness brand that helps people move better, recover intentionally, and feel their best while creating a community that proves lasting transformation is possible through consistency, discipline, and self-care.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today without the support of others. When I first began my weight loss journey, I trained with a personal trainer in Dallas named Craig. He helped me build a solid foundation by teaching me proper form, creating structured workouts, and holding me accountable during the early stages of my journey. With his guidance, I lost my first 20 pounds and gained the confidence to believe I could truly change my lifestyle. I also have an amazing group of friends who have supported me every step of the way. They kept me motivated, encouraged me on the days I wanted to give up, celebrated my milestones, and reminded me why I started. Their support, along with the encouragement from my growing social media community, has inspired me to stay consistent and continue sharing my journey. While I’ve put in the work, I truly believe success is never achieved alone, and I’m grateful for everyone who has helped me become the person I am today and supported me in building BODYD.
