Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherri Braxton.
Hi Sherri, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Fitness has always been bigger than workouts for me. It’s always been about confidence, consistency, healing, and helping people reconnect with themselves through movement.
Over the years, I realized so many women were struggling to stay consistent because they were overwhelmed, intimidated, or trying to fit into wellness spaces that didn’t actually feel supportive or realistic for them. That’s what pushed me to build Sherri Fitness into more than just a class. I wanted to create a community-centered wellness experience where women could feel encouraged, challenged, and seen at every stage of their journey.
Before moving to Dallas, I owned and operated a fitness studio in San Antonio where I worked closely with women from all different backgrounds and fitness levels. That experience taught me how important community, accountability, and accessibility really are when it comes to wellness. A lot of women want to prioritize their health, but life, schedules, confidence, childcare, work, and even intimidation can become barriers.
When I came to Dallas, I didn’t want to lose that sense of connection. Instead, I wanted to evolve it. That’s what led me into building online group fitness classes, wellness pop-ups, and online programs that allow women to stay connected and consistent no matter where they are. Accessibility became a huge part of the mission for me because wellness should not feel exclusive or out of reach.
At the end of the day, my goal is simple: help women feel stronger physically, mentally, and emotionally.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of the biggest challenges was rebuilding after relocating from San Antonio to Dallas. In San Antonio, I had already built a strong community through my fitness studio, TV appearances and modeling, so starting over in a new city meant rebuilding relationships, visibility, and consistency from the ground up.
Another challenge has been helping women shift their mindset around fitness. A lot of people come into wellness feeling discouraged because they’ve started and stopped so many times, or they feel like they have to already be “fit” before joining a class. Breaking through that intimidation barrier and helping women feel comfortable enough to begin has been a huge part of the journey.
There’s also the reality of balancing business growth with accessibility. I never wanted Sherri Fitness to feel exclusive or unattainable. I wanted to create programs and classes that women could realistically fit into their lives, whether they were beginners, rebuilding confidence, managing busy schedules, or simply trying to prioritize themselves again.
Building an online fitness community also came with its own learning curve. Transitioning from in-person experiences to creating digital classes, online programs, wellness events, and virtual community spaces required a completely different level of structure and creativity. But honestly, those challenges pushed me to think bigger about what fitness and wellness could look like beyond a traditional gym setting.
At the end of the day, every obstacle has reinforced the mission behind the brand: creating a supportive wellness space where women feel empowered to keep going, even when life gets hard.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Sherri Fitness is a wellness and strength brand focused on helping women build sustainable routines that actually fit their real lives. We specialize in group fitness experiences, strength-based training, online wellness programs, and community-centered events that help women feel stronger without feeling overwhelmed.
We don’t approach fitness from a punishment mindset. A lot of women are constantly restarting their routines because the programs they’ve been exposed to were never built for longevity in the first place. They’re burned out, inconsistent, intimidated, or trying to force themselves into wellness spaces that don’t actually support them. Sherri Fitness was created to change that experience.
Everything we build is designed around structure, progression, and accessibility. Our classes aren’t random workouts thrown on a calendar, they’re intentionally designed as part of a larger transformation journey. Whether someone joins Strong Foundations to rebuild confidence, Core & Control to improve stability, or one of our sculpt-focused series, the goal is always the same: helping women reconnect with their strength in a way that feels empowering and sustainable.
One thing I’m especially proud of is how the brand has evolved beyond traditional fitness classes into experiences that create real connection. We’re building wellness pop-ups, online programs, specialty training series, and community partnerships that allow women to engage with fitness outside of the typical gym environment. That accessibility matters to me because wellness should feel inviting, not intimidating.
More than anything, I want people to know that Sherri Fitness is about helping women stop constantly starting over with themselves. We’re building a brand that supports consistency, confidence, and long-term transformation, not just temporary motivation.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
One thing I’ve learned is that mentorship and networking work best when you lead with genuine connection instead of just trying to get something from people. Some of the best relationships I’ve built came from simply showing up consistently, being open to learning, and staying involved in spaces that aligned with my goals and values.
My biggest advice would honestly be to focus less on trying to impress people and more on building authentic relationships. People remember how you make them feel, how consistent you are, and how you show up over time.
