Today we’d like to introduce you to Aanchal Jain.
Aanchal, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Fashion Designer, Baker & Marketing Manager by choice and by profession. And now I can say a Travel & Fashion Blogger too 🙂
Since my childhood days, I have always loved to sketch and create different mediums of art. Consequently, it led me to the world of fashion. I graduated in Fashion Design and while I was in my 2nd year in 2012, I started with my own label- “Pastels by Aanchal”
I came to Dallas after getting married to the love of my humble life Akhil and it’s been 4 marvelous and adventurous years. Since I was new in Dallas with barely any work to do, I started to explore the kitchen tales. I thought baking would be a really cool idea and I feel it has totally worked out for me. I established “Dallas Cakery” in 2016 and trust me I have enjoyed this bumpy yet amazing ride every bit of it!
Now coming to the blogging – The Peppy Wings, Akhil and I are a blend of hike, travel, and fashion!! I always say I have got my hiking genes from him 😉 So I felt it will be fun sharing our crazy experiences, fashion tips and #OOTD with the world!! You guys will mostly see me cheerful and smiling, with that being said I wanted a name to match my personality! I feel my style is Peppy+fun and on a lighter note, I also feel I have wings to fly, haha so THE PEPPY WINGS voila
I launched my very first travel blog – Machu Picchu 3 months ago and since then I have seen a growth in my Instagram family which is pretty motivating. Since then I have written some more fashion and travel blogs and the response, I received is quite amazing! If you watch my insta stories you’ll know I am mostly about big smile, red lipstick and full of crazy boomerangs!!!!
I also love to multitask so hopefully, someday I’ll be sharing a blog on how I manage my days with my job and hobbies! For now, I am all excited to make you travel through my eyes and give a visual treat to your eyes!!!!
Btw I am also a mom to 2 rescue fur babies and someday I hope to become a part of the rescue organizations as well! Just taking one step at a time 🙂
I hope you enjoyed reading this space as much as I did writing it 🙂 THANK YOU!!!!
Has it been a smooth road?
I won’t say I have had a lot of difficulties since I haven’t been in this blogging world for that long but I can say it’s not that easy and glamorous as it looks like. Writing blogs is not only showing pictures and posting itinerary instead it is showing your emotions to the entire world as how/what did you feel/see while traveling to that place.
It’s too soon for me to give advice to other women but I would at least say you have to be YOUnique while starting any blog/business! You have to define yourself in a way which sets you apart from the rest. In that case my pictures are mostly vibrant, Peppy and I am always smiling since I feel I am pretty good at it 😉 I mostly wear my own designed outfits which also makes me different from the rest.
Also, I feel there’s no age/time limit to start a new business in life. Whenever you feel you are ready with fresh content just go for it!!!!
So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into The Peppy Wings story. Tell us more about the business.
I work full time as a Marketing Manager and I blog/bake/design on the side! I can never sit idle and I feel I have so much to share with the world that even 24 hours are a little less! I try to utilize every minute of my day to do something creative and productive. I feel so content when my family and friends recognize and appreciate my work in a beautiful way.
Since me and my husband travel a lot together, I feel The Peppy Wings will always have a ton of fresh new content to share. I am also glad that in a very short span of time I have partnered with brands like Shisedo, L’Oréal, Dunkin’, Neutrogena, DSTLD and worked with Influester, Brandbacker and Heartbeat. Trust me I am enjoying every bit of this blogging journey!
What do you feel are the biggest barriers today to female leadership, in your industry or generally?
I feel women are the biggest enemies of themselves! There are a lot of other things which can be blamed but I feel this is the biggest barrier itself. I have seen women pulling other women down which is quite a challenge in itself. On the other hand, there are women empowerment programs which are doing phenomenal as well. I feel we as women should cheer up and encourage other folks to grow and nourish their strengths and qualities.
