Today we’d like to introduce you to Adiryah Esaw.

Hi Adiryah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
It’s 2013, my senior year of High School and I’m coming to terms with the fact that college might not be an option for me. I wasn’t making the grades and also there was nothing I actually wanted to study & that I would be wasting so much money if I went that route. So I started brainstorming what I was good at that I could actually make money from. And that skill happend to be makeup. I would sit for hours in the mirror and just practice. So I started to look at different beauty schools that offered a makeup program. While searching, the school that I ultimately decided on told me to go for the esthetics program because it offered the full makeup program as well as skin. So I did. I graduated & and month later I was back in school. I had no idea what an esthetician was but once I started the program i realized it was everything I already loved, I just didn’t know there was an actual term for it. Fast forward, I get my license but I pursued becoming a MUA for the 1st 4/5 years of my career. I did freelance & Worked for companies like Ulta & eventually landing my dream job at the time, at MAC Cosmetics. I loved being an MUA, until I started experiencing burnout. I eventually left that job & decided to actually use my license & went to work for a chain waxing company. It was at that job that I discovered I truly loved waxing & skin. It became like a second nature skill for me & I became one of the top waxers at my location. I realized how much money I was making that company & started to think that I could definitely do this for myself. Fast forward & I’m working there for a couple of years & the pandemic hits. Things are uncertain at this time & I also find out that I’m pregnant & it was at this time I knew after I had my baby that I didn’t want to return to work for someone else. In 2020 I birthed my son & a little over a year later I birthed my 2nd baby that is now known as The SkinDrip Society. & I’ve been in business for almost 5 years now & it has truly been life changing & One of best risks I’ve taken in my life thus far.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not. lol I literally just took a leap of faith & started a business without actually knowing how to run a business. But I needed to take that leap & just learn along the way because if I tried to get all my ducks in a row 1st, I would have never started. My biggest struggles have been navigating the highs & lows of my industry. when I’m busy, I’m busy & it’s great but in those slow seasons, I’m questioning every life choice I’ve made. Also learning how to truly be a CEO & that when you’re running your business properly, everybody is not going to like you & learning to be ok with that.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in body waxing specifically Brazilian waxing, Brows, makeup & corrective intimate skincare.

I’m known for body waxing, creating beautiful brows & my crazy content videos surrounding my work.

I’m so proud of the clientele that I’ve built. I have clients that are so loyal to me & truly trust me not only with their skin but with their stories, their secrets etc. I’ve created a space that is so intimate & safe for my clients that they know when they walk through my doors, they can just exhale & let their shoulders drop even if it’s just for 10 mins. That’s what truly sets me apart from others. I’m extremely knowledgeable in my field but I also am extremely intentional about building real relationships with the women & men I serve.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success to me is when work doesn’t feel like work. When I’m excited & feel full inside when I walk into my space & when I leave. knowing I’m walking in my purpose & Knowing that what I do is also helping & inspiring others. When I can still live & enjoy my personal life as well as my career that’s what success looks like to me.
