Today we’d like to introduce you to Angelica Caudillo.
Hi Angelica, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
My candle-making journey started back in 2020 when the beginning stages of covid was happening. Everything was closed and my daughter didn’t go back to school after spring break. I found a candle-making kit online for us to do together and well the passion for it grew from there. Fast forward March of 2022 and I opened my business.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Just like any new business there are ups and downs. Things you have to learn and mistakes that unfortunately are made. I would say learning the back end of a business was tough. Now that I got the hang of it things are sailing smooth.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Just like almost any small business owner I also have my 9-5 job. It can be a hassle trying to balance out work, home life, children, social life, and trying your best at being an entrepreneur.
I’m most proud of the growth I’ve been able to accomplish these previous 10 months. I work late hours of the day on my business, and I would say it’s safe to say my work speaks for itself. In the last 10 months, I’ve been featured in 2 magazines, I’ve been able to host my own candle workshops, collaborate with other small local businesses, with this: my candles are in one location where you’re able to purchase in person as of right now and online but I hope to be able to be inside more locations soon.

And just so much more that I’ve been working on that I can’t wait to share in due time.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Not everyone is going to support you and that’s okay because the internet is a big enough place that when you least expect it, you’ll have tons of supporters.
Also, it’s sad to say but everyone is watching. Watching what’s your next move. So, make sure you give them a heck of a show to watch 😉
