Conversations with Courtney Glass

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Glass.

Hi Courtney, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Courtney, and I am originally from Pine Bluff, Arkansas. I am a mom to a beautiful artist, Aria. I am also an Artist, Dancer, and Actress. I appreciate all things of love and creativity. I hope to be the inspiration that not only will God make your dreams come true, but he will also reveal ways to use your Gifts for Good to bless others. Growing up in Pine Bluff, I was surrounded by so many talented people, it really gave me the push to always go harder in my crafts. The influence of my parents has also kept me hands-on in so many elements, both spiritually and creatively. From Pine Bluff to college at UCA, I was able to align with some amazing creatives. Improv acting with Destination Imagination, Live Art events with Low and NUW, and Live Dance performances with Brittney and Dancers United. Recovering from an illness made me want to get back to the core of my passions and go all in. I moved to LA in 2016 in pursuit of my dreams and learning entertainment. Everything God had me experience over the years creatively came out in LA. I was blessed to work on projects with entertainers such as P. Diddy, Dj Khaled, Chris Brown, Kiiara, Chloe and Halle, Demi Lovato, Stefflon Don, and Childish Gambino. I was able to be a student in the entertainment industry and work on multiple network shows like Scandal, This is Us, Blackish, Grownish, Snowfall, American Horror Story, and American Crime Story. Movies such as Bodied, a host of commercials, and gameshows each allowed me to get a rapid course in Hollywood 101.

Once I left LA, it became a goal to own my creative works under my name Court Danyelle. With that, my business and website courtdanyelle.com went Live! Courtdanyelle.com is a central site for Creative Art Re-Imagined, specifically in different areas of Entertainment. Court Danyelle features live art (@themastercreatives_), wearable art (@createthevibeapparel), and a space to book me for creative projects.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road at all. When you chase a dream, the first thing you meet is opposition. You have to pray and encourage yourself to keep going with each obstacle. I am so thankful for my family and friends. They were there to talk to me and support me along my journey. I am grateful to God for keeping me because my health presented me with near-death experiences, and I’m thankful to be here every day doing what I love. From navigating being a Mom, new experiences, managing finances, staying healthy, job/ entrepreneurship, and balancing relationships, it has been tough. Throughout everything, I wouldn’t change a thing. Every single moment of opposition taught me something I needed to apply to my next level and made me stronger in my faith that everything will always work out!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
What sets me apart from others is that my brand is based on creative lifestyles. As a creative, I dabble in so many different areas, and my life reflects that. My tools must keep up with my ideas and work. My brand is curated based on Art design elements with an aesthetic that translates to “set life” in all capacities. I model, paint, dance, act, sing, and dabble in graphic design. These have helped me cultivate a brand that is custom to creative lifestyles.

I am usually known for dancing which is my most recognizable work. I love to dance, and when I’m out or at an event, I will be dancing, no questions asked. This is my favorite way to stay moving and consistently challenge my body. Also, if you are an artist of any type, there is nothing like Live performances where you can connect live with the audience.

With my business: the Art Inspires your space, the wearable Art/ accessories Assist in creative performances and bookings, and the colors reflect staple wardrobe colors required for filming/ set lifestyles.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
What has worked well for me in networking is always being myself. As long as I stay true to who I am, my craft will always reflect that and bring me around the correct people. When you allow your art to be true, you will attract your tribe. I believe God has a way of making your path align with the exact people that will help your gifts grow and challenge you to be better in your lane. I love meeting creative people and have met so many over the years. Walking in your authenticity will lead you to doors within your lane and allow you to collaborate with the correct people always.

Also, be a student. When you get into rooms that allow you to experience amazing opportunities, do not feel the need to prove yourself. Be a student of the moment and treat people with love. Do not be afraid to ask questions and ask people what has worked for them. This can inspire you to find your next step.
