Hi Ebony, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Ebony, also known as The Keto Kween, and I am a social media content creator. My content focuses on low-carb food and general wellness. I started posting on social media in late 2019 by documenting my keto weight loss journey, and my page blew up from there! Now, I’ve been able to help thousands of people navigate their own weight loss journeys by living a low-carb lifestyle.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Honestly, it has been a smooth road! I post what I do/eat in my everyday life, and I get to help others while doing it. Of course, social media comes with the negative comments and assumptions, but I like to just stay positive and educate the community I’ve built.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
Professionally, I went to college and got my MBA. In college, I specialized in Marketing. Now, I am a social media content creator, so I still do marketing but in a COMPLETELY different way than what I learned in college.
I’m known for my delicious keto recipe videos, but my favorite part about this job is that I’m able to work with brands I grew up using. It feels like a full-circle moment.
What sets me apart from others is that I’m authentically me on and offline.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love Dallas! I think it is one of the best cities in the country. When I think of Dallas, I think of dark, grown & sexy. I think I will always have a home in Dallas. I do wish that Dallas had more restaurant options. My favorite thing ever to do is explore new restaurants.
