Today we’d like to introduce you to Jay Truble.
Hi Jay, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I will start where my previous interview left off (look it up, Jay Truble VoyageDallas interview). I’ve recently experienced a few back-to-back losses in my family which put a halt on progress until recently. I’ve arranged the artwork & found the DJ i want to host the last mixtape project “30 Mo Dayz, 30 Mo Deathz” which is a collective of 30 tracks I’ve recorded over the last couple years. It’s been halted a couple times for different reasons but it’s finally complete. Once that, and an accompanying EP is released I plan to play more of a background role. I want to develop & guide up & coming artists. I want to share all the knowledge I’ve acquired over decades if playing the background in the indie music/entertainment industry. I would like to equip a young, hungry artist with the tools to do in this era what many of us couldn’t during my era.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road hasn’t been the smoothest. The brutal truth is NO ONE WILL CELEBRATE YOU ACCOMPLISHING WHAT THEY COULDN’T. Expect to lose “friends & family” along your journey & resentment from anyone you won’t allow to act entitled. The more success you see, the more resentment you will experience. You have to have or develop thick skin. You have to take everything AND NOTHING personal at the same time sometimes. You will need to learn to appreciate whatever support system you have because they’re detrimental.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an artist, writer & amateur photographer. I’m known mostly for gritty, creative lyrics & a southern flow. I’m most proud of my work ethic & personal growth. I’m most proud of remaining indie & getting play on multiple international radio stations (Wildout Radio, Villa Koola, iFM radio, etc.). I’ve never compromised my character or stepped on anyone. No gimmicks or clout chasing. I maintain a level of professionalism rarely seen in today’s entertainers.
