Today we’d like to introduce you to Katris Wright.
Katris, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story honestly feels like an intervention because for a long time, I didn’t think I had any real talents or gifts that I was deeply passionate about until now.
I think many creatives can relate to that feeling. There was creativity inside of me but years ago I didn’t have access to the tools, technology, collaboration, or environments to help bring my talent to life. Today’s generation can pick up a phone, create content, build community, and explore their creativity in real time but my story doesn’t start that way.
I remember standing in the mirror as a little girl holding a hairbrush like it was my microphone, pretending to host and perform before I even understood what media or entertainment truly was. I also remember something else that makes me laugh now, (haha) talking to the trees in my backyard. I know it sounds funny, but I remember feeling something stirring inside of me, even as a child. There was always a voice, imagination, and encouragement in me trying to come out. I was constantly creating spaces from whatever I could find…chairs, sheets, pillows, dolls, teddy bears. Like many children, I had a huge imagination, but at the time I didn’t realize I was practicing creativity, storytelling, hosting, and environment-building.
What’s beautiful to me now is realizing those imaginary spaces became real spaces.
The environments I once created for my dolls and teddy bears have evolved into real platforms where creatives, talent, entrepreneurs, and visionaries can gather, collaborate, and thrive.
Through media, podcasting, hosting, coaching, and storytelling, I’ve found purpose in creating spaces where people feel seen, heard, and inspired.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest struggles along my journey has been understanding how to properly value and price my services as a creator, media personality, and coach.
A lot of people see the finished product…the red carpets, the interviews, the content, the moments but they don’t always understand the strategy, preparation, creativity, and emotional investment behind it.
Media is powerful because it creates experiences that people remember.
I’m passionate about creating moments that inspire, connect, and leave impact both on and off stage. But excellence requires resources, vision, planning, production, and sometimes even waiting for the right creative “download” or direction. There are moments that may look effortless to the public, but behind them are days or even weeks of preparation, branding, coaching, storytelling, editing, and intentional execution.
As creators, we often have to learn how to communicate the value of what we bring to the table because what we produce is not just content… it’s influence, atmosphere, strategy, and transformation!
This journey has taught me to respect my process, trust my creativity, and understand that the investment behind the scenes is just as important as the moment people see in front of the camera6. So, now. My struggle has finally been resolved because I respect and value my process.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a media personality, talent coach, spokesperson, and creative visionary who specializes in helping people bring their voice, message, and presence to life through media, storytelling, and impactful experiences.
My work includes hosting events, red carpets, producing interviews and content, coaching talent, building brands, and creating meaningful moments both on and off camera snd stages.
I’m known for my ability to connect with people authentically while creating an atmosphere that makes others feel seen, confident, and empowered. Whether I’m hosting an event, coaching talent, interviewing guests, or producing content, my goal is always to bring purpose, excellence, and real connection into every room I enter.
One of the things I’m most proud of is building a platform that allows me to inspire others while evolving creatively myself. Through projects like Pillow Talks, The Media Playbook, talent coaching, and media production, I’ve been able to help people discover confidence in their voice, sharpen their presentation, and understand the power of storytelling and branding.
What sets me apart is that I understand collaboration and bringing value. I don’t just focus on content — I focus on creating experiences and transformation within the culture and industry. I understand both the creative and strategic side of media. I know how to capture a moment, communicate a vision, and help people present the best version of themselves. I also lead with authenticity, wisdom, and heart, which allows people to trust me not only as a media professional, but also as someone who genuinely cares about their growth and success.
At the center of everything I do is the desire to use media as a tool to elevate people, build community, create opportunities for others to shine but MOST importantly, GLORIFY God with my gifts and talents.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
For years, many creatives carried their visions alone.
A lot of people felt isolated, overwhelmed by big ideas, or stuck in the middle of unfinished projects because they didn’t have access to the right tools, resources, connections, or collaborative communities to help bring those visions to life.
What excites me about the next 5–10 years is that I see community becoming just as important as creativity itself. I see creatives collaborating more instead of competing. I see photographers connecting with models, podcasters connecting with producers, brands connecting with storytellers, and independent creatives building together. Technology and social platforms have made access easier, but I believe the real shift is happening in the mindset of the people…creators are realizing they don’t have to build alone anymore.
I also believe audiences are craving authenticity more than perfection. People want meaningful stories, real connection, and experiences that feel alive .That opens the door for independent creatives, community-driven media, and purpose-centered platforms to have even greater influence in culture.
For me, that’s where my passion lives — helping cultivate spaces where creatives feel seen, supported, inspired, and equipped to grow. I believe the future of media and entertainment will be built through collaboration, storytelling, and communities that empower people to create boldly together.!
