Today we’d like to introduce you to Kon8h.
Hi Kon8h, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve been doing makeup and creating art since I was around 13 or 14 years old. Even back in school, I was always doodling in class or helping girls do their eyebrows, which is funny considering the space I’m in today. Creativity was always something that naturally followed me.
As a child, I was deeply drawn to colors, textures, prints, painting, and makeup especially the emotional and artistic side of color theory and self-expression. I loved how makeup and art could completely transform a feeling, a mood, or even someone’s confidence.
Growing up and navigating my background honestly made me love makeup even more because it became more than just beauty to me. It became a form of expression, identity, and creativity. Over time, that passion naturally expanded into painting and mixed media art, where I’m able to tell stories and express emotion in a more layered and personal way.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. For a while, I felt like I was creating and painting for other people instead of fully creating for myself. Once I started leaning into my own experiences and emotions, my work became much more honest, personal, and revealing. I paint through life experiences whether it’s joy, melancholy, self-discovery, relationships, or different phases of my life and I think that’s what allows people to genuinely connect with my work.
Makeup gives me a different kind of creative outlet because it’s collaborative. You give me the vision, and I bring it to life. As a traveling makeup artist, I’ve learned so much through working with different clients, experiences, and environments, while also figuring out what works best for me and my artistry. One of my favorite parts is building lasting relationships with clients and growing with them through different moments in life.
Painting, though, will always be deeply personal to me. I create simply because I love it, and there’s nothing more rewarding than people being able to see my heart in my work and feel inspired or connected through it.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
What people tend to love most about my work is that I’m both a makeup artist and a painter overall, just an artist in every sense. I specialize in both beauty and art, and with makeup, I love bringing people’s visions to life in an elevated and intentional way. Whether I’m working one-on-one with clients or on creative sets, I love creating experiences that make people feel confident, inspired, and seen.
With painting, I’m most proud of being able to express emotion through color, texture, and storytelling. I love when people connect with the details in my work the colors I choose, the textures I use, and the feelings behind each piece.
What sets me apart is staying true to myself while allowing my work to evolve naturally over time. I believe in taking my time and creating with intention. Whether I’m painting on a canvas or working on someone’s face, I want people to feel seen, loved, inspired, and connected to the experience.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
More than anything, I also want to share the importance of loving yourself and really understanding who you are, while allowing space for growth and change over time. So much of life moves fast, and there’s pressure to always be “on” or at the top of everything immediately. But I don’t believe in rushing the process.
I feel people often forget to slow down and truly sit with art, with growth, and with the details that make things meaningful. Not everything has to be fast or instant. Building yourself is important, but so is taking your time, finding peace in the process, and really appreciating the full impact of what you’re creating and becoming.
I never want to be part of a space where everything feels rushed. For me, the beauty is in the patience, the evolution, and allowing things to develop naturally and intentionally.
