Today we’d like to introduce you to Ron Brooks. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Coach Ron Brooks and Performance Specialist Clarence Willis Jr. presents Elite Speed Skills, a transformative coaching experience that instills character, confidence, and a championship mindset in young athletes. Coach Ron is an Irving, Texas native and Mac Arthur High School Alumni. Ron was a three-sport athlete at Mac Arthur and was awarded a scholarship to play football at the Louisiana State University. As a highly talented cornerback Ron was drafted to the Buffalo Bills and later played for the Philadelphia Eagles. Coach Clarence is native to New Orleans, Louisiana, and is a former three-sport athlete lettering in track, powerlifting, and football. Clarence went on the play wide receiver and returner in college. Coach Clarence also has experience training professional athletes, combine training, and team training. Coach Clarence and Coach Ron years of experience in sports performance, ability to relate to athletes, and unique coaching style changes the game in Speed and Performance Training. Elite Speed Skills provides speed, agility, performance, and position-specific training for teams small groups, as well as hosting training camps. Elite Speed Skills held its first ESS Exposure Camp – Dallas this summer at MacArthur High School. Athletes had a blast learning how to run pro-style drills like the 40 Yard Dash L-Drill, as well as next-level linear and curvilinear drills. The ESS Exposure Camp grants young athletes the opportunity to learn proper stance, running form, and tips and techniques that will give them an edge on their competition. Former Dallas Cowboy Morris Claiborne showed support and came out to share his knowledge with campers as well. Elite Speed Skills is looking to forward to giving back to the Dallas and Irving community as the need grows for developmental and next-level speed, agility, and performance training. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Challenges are finding creative ways to get kids more involved. 

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
What sets Coach Ron apart is that he is an outstanding athlete who ran an official 4.37 forty, is a two-time National Champion with the LSU Tigers. and played in football at the highest level in the National Football League. 

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
At Elite Speed Skills, we believe success is adopting a championship mindset, being confident in your own abilities, show attention to detail, and give one hundred percent effort in all you do.
