Today we’d like to introduce you to Yulia.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started playing piano when I was five years old, and by the age of eight I was already composing my own melodies. Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I later studied at the Novosibirsk Conservatory in Russia, where I was trained in classical music, but I was always drawn to explore different genres such as jazz, blues, and contemporary instrumental music.
Alongside my studies, I began performing with local band, which helped me grow as a musician and shape my own voice as a composer. I also worked as a composer on commercials, which gave me the opportunity to apply different musical genres in a professional context. Over time, I developed a style that blends smooth jazz piano with a cinematic and emotional approach to storytelling through music.
Over the years, I’ve released original music and collaborated with amazing musicians and producers, with my work being recognized in various international festivals and awards.
Most recently, I released “Let’s Agree To Love” featuring Jackiem Joyner. This piece reflects a message of unity, compassion, and love during a time of division, and it is very close to my heart.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
What challenges have I faced on my creative journey? Relocating, learning a new language, finding a new job, entering a new social circle, and building new musical connections—these are just some of the hurdles I’ve had to overcome. Yet, I am grateful for this path, as it has shaped me into the person I am today.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I love to write music. This is my calling, but to bring my ideas to life, I engage in another form of musical work: teaching children piano and music theory. I hope I am instilling in them knowledge and a love for music, giving the children the opportunity to pursue this path professionally in the future.
What sets me apart is that I approach music as both art and mission. My relationship with God is at the center of my creative process and shapes the emotional direction of my work. I don’t write music only for sound, but for meaning — to capture something real and human within it.
Rather than focusing on external recognition, my priority is to stay true to the gift I’ve been entrusted with and to create music that feels sincere and intentional. This helps me write honestly, where music becomes both self-expression and a genuine form of connection with people.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
To those just starting their musical journey, I want to say that it doesn’t matter so much when you begin; what matters is your attitude and how you carve out time for it in your schedule. Dream big, do everything from the heart, approach your practice creatively, and don’t expect instant results—simply enjoy the process, and you will see the results when you least expect them.
