Hi Aalaysia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I’ve been doing makeup professionally now for over 5 years and I still have the same fiery passion for it as if I just picked up the brush! I love being able to make people feel good through service. I specialize in Soft Glam slightly enhancing the skin and making your most prominent features pop! I treat every client that sits in my chair like a celebrity, you get top-tier treatment every time! I want everyone to feel special and served. God is the key factor as to why I’m where I am today. It hasn’t always been easy building in an over-saturated industry but what helped me is constantly reminding myself that I’m special, unique, and one of a kind. What God has for me is for me. I’ve worked on commercial projects getting my feet wet in the film & Tv industry. My business has been blessed beyond measures this year I got to work with Dallas Cowboys very own Dak Prescott! Lei Beautique has been flourishing next year we have some exciting things in store!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not! Being an entrepreneur is hard in itself. For me personally, self-doubt and self-sabotage has been a struggle of mine. Social media has a way of making you feel like you’re not doing anything at all when you’ve accomplished so much. Juggling everyday life while trying to build a business is challenging. My business has taken a backseat to my jobs because I didn’t have faith in myself or my business to survive without that safety net. Faith is believing in things not seen and I’m sometimes more logical and for that, I can say I’ve been the problem and obstacle in my own way.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m known for my flawless Soft Glam. I believe in enhancing the skin not overdoing it. I don’t want my clients to feel like when they wipe off their makeup, they wipe off their beauty. I make sure to let every client know that I’m simply just enhancing the beauty that’s already present and making features like green eyes, bold lips and money-making cheekbones pop! What sets me apart is my in-depth skin knowledge I’m familiar with skin conditions so I can properly prep the skin and my color matching is PERFECT! I can create any foundation shade from primary colors I can insure you a flawless, seamless application every time.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory was getting to go with my mom to the beauty shop. There’s nothing like going to get a fresh silk press for Easter Sunday being in a packed salon full of women laughing sharing stories it inspired me young to be in the beauty industry.
