Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Griffith.
Hi Alexandra, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My sister, Taylor De La Fuente, started the company in 2019. I joined her as an administrative assistant in 2023, helping run the business and also complete some of our marketing work internally. I loved redesigning our website and working on social media graphics, so when a client asked if we offered website design, my sister asked me if I wanted to take on the project as an experiment. I loved it — website and graphic design are a natural extension of my professional skillset as a fine artist. The work was so fulfilling, that we decided to offer a beta test for website design to see if we could add it to her list of services. The beta test confirmed what we had guessed: people were hungry for a fast and affordable website design option that built on the strategic copy my sister was already writing for them. So in December of 2024 I officially transition out of my assistant role and into the role of lead designer. Website design has continued to be a hot seller for us, so I’m joining the team full-time in January 2026.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Building a business always has its bumps — that is part of the process. My sister was growing at an explosive rate back in 2022 and then announced her pregnancy and the birth of her son, and her sales disappeared. She had to let all of her employees go and drastically reduce her own salary to stay afloat. I wasn’t on the team back then, but she’s my sister, so obviously I heard all about this as it was happening for her. It was a really hard time. But she learned a lot from the experience and was able to slowly build the business back up.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Bigmouth Copy is a micro-agency serving artists and creative thinkers with copy, content, and design services that represent them the way that they’ve always wanted to be seen.
We specialize in serving artists and unconventional thinkers whose businesses don’t fit into rinse-and-repeat messaging or marketing formulas. Capturing their unique way of creating art and doing business requires us to be intuitive, adaptable creators and savvy strategists.
While our brand has its own distinctive, recognizable voice, we don’t have a signature style of writing or design. Our portfolio is as diverse as our clients.
What makes you happy?
My daughter! I’m a single mom with an almost 5 year old. She’s spunky, outgoing, and full of fun and creativity. She’s a bigmouth in the making, hah!
Working with my sister makes me happy too. We’ve always been opposites in almost every regard, but working as a team on her business has been like adding chocolate to peanut butter. It just works, and it has really brought us together like never before. Creating and making art is my passion, and seeing how a client reacts when I take their vision out of their imagination and bring it into reality brings me such joy. I’m looking forward to devoting myself full time to a creative job that allows me to utilize my artistic chops.
