Daily Inspiration: Meet Alondra Loera

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alondra Loera.

Hi Alondra, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started my career really focused on just getting good at hair & learning color, perfecting layered cuts, and really understanding consultations. Over time, I realized it’s not just about the technical side. It’s about the connection you build with people. Working in Fort Worth has shaped me a lot because it’s such a relationship-based community. I’ve grown through loyal clients and word-of-mouth, and that’s taught me the importance of consistency and standing behind my work. Now I feel confident in my skills, especially with dimensional color and layered cuts, but what matters most to me is how my clients feel when they leave my chair.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Yes, it’s definitely been hard. Being your own boss sounds amazing, but it comes with a lot of pressure. You’re responsible for building your clientele, marketing yourself, staying consistent, and constantly showing up even on the days you don’t feel your best. And in such a competitive beauty industry it can feel overwhelming trying to stand out especially amongst so many other talented artists. There were moments I doubted myself. Moments where I questioned if I was growing fast enough or doing enough. I’ve always wanted to feel unique and create something that truly reflects me, and that takes time, patience, and resilience. But every struggle shaped me. It pushed me to become stronger, more confident, and more intentional with my work. Now I can look back and see that every challenge was necessary. It made me not just a better stylist, but a stronger independent woman. And that makes it all worth it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in dimensional brunettes and layered cuts. I really love creating looks that feel natural and lived-in, but still make a statement. I also enjoy working with clients who want something subtle but impactful whether that’s a big transformation or just a shift that makes them feel different and refreshed.
I’m most proud of stepping out of my comfort zone and allowing myself to connect with new people. Being a stylist has given me the opportunity to meet so many different individuals, build relationships, and share stories with each other. I’ve grown a lot personally and professionally through those connections, and it’s something I truly value about my career

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Yes, I have taken risks. Going into a new career or trying something new is always scary. The unknown can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re creating something new. I wouldn’t necessarily say I naturally consider myself a big risk-taker, but over time, I’ve become more comfortable with it.
Taking those first steps showed me that sometimes the outcome isn’t as scary as you think. Once you push past the fear, you realize it leads to growth. That experience has made me more confident in taking bigger, intentional risks when I believe in myself and my goals
