Daily Inspiration: Meet Carol Pearson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carol Pearson.

Hi Carol, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
If variety is the spice of life, my life has been very spicy! I have spent a third of my life in each of three locations: Chicago, Silicon Valley and Hawaii. Being a life long learner with natural curiosity, I study a variety of disciplines and place my focus on areas that interest me the most: science and art. This has guided my life path in career, assisting community and as a proponent of STEM.

My early career began in the ‘80s in Electrical and Computer Engineering; a time very few women entered this field. I worked my way up the ranks at computer chip companies with the goal to having visibility and expertise in the industry. This opened opportunities, and lead me to my dream position at Apple Computer. Throughout this decade, I enacted changes that contributed to Apple’s turnaround and shaped the future of the chip industry.

With growing health concerns, I retired and became a healthcare advocate for myself and others with “invisible illnesses’ with little or no treatment options. After a decade of finding solutions and regaining my health, I continue to offer my insight to others looking to improve their condition.

My current endeavors are fueled by my lifelong passions of art, interior design and assisting community. Creating art has been a healing journey; returning joy, vibrancy and purpose after a miserable and draining period of life.

I created the platform, PeaceUnityArts, to tie together the goals of vibrant art for the soul and sharing unifying themes and messages from current areas of study.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Overall, I consider myself fortunate in life and career. As one may predict, there were challenges to overcome and life lessons to be learned.

I have been financially responsible for myself since the age of 17. University studies were easily manageable; money and scholarships were limited. In hindsight, being a starving student had meaningful life lessons. Financial and relational stress has been a contributing factor to medical conditions for much of my life. Lack of familial support created determination and strength of character. Medical conditions brought knowledge and opportunity to assist others.

In creative pursuit, arthritis in my hands compelled a transition in style and methodology to reduce the use of brushwork in my pieces. I taught myself the emerging form of fluid acrylics and created and mastered my own unique style and techniques.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My purpose, and art, is to be a catalyst for healing others and encouraging interconnectedness in caring for our planet. Each work reflects my journey, inviting viewers to engage in moments of introspection and mindfulness. My art is not simply a reflection of what I see, but an expression of what I feel: the lessons learned from the earth, the cycles of renewal, life lessons learned and the importance of stewardship.

Through my social media platform, PeaceUnityArts, I share not only my artwork but also messages aimed at improving self and community. My goal is to spread Aloha and foster a sense of belonging, reminding us all of the beauty in our shared experiences. My greatest rewards are the notes from viewers regarding how a tip or message has assisted them.

Throughout my artistic journey, I have been drawn to the tranquil rhythms and vibrant energy of the natural world. I explore the interplay of color, movement, and symbolism to convey messages of peace, unity, and ecological guardianship. My work is guided by an intuitive sense of flow, allowing each composition to evolve organically—much like the landscapes, oceans, and forests that inspire me. Shifting to fluid acrylics has allowed me to develop a unique style that is both vibrant and tranquil.

Nature, in all its forms, is both my subject and my collaborator. Whether it’s the resilient redwoods reaching skyward after a fire, the serene expanse of a moonlit garden, or the dynamic dance of a tropical sunset, my work seeks to reveal the quiet strength and restorative power found in our environment. I often incorporate color psychology and cultural motifs, using them as visual language to evoke calm, hope, and connection.

Each piece is an invitation to pause, breathe, and rediscover the sense of wonder that nature offers us all. Through vibrant palettes and tranquil subjects, I aim to create spaces—both on canvas and in the viewer’s mind—where peace and unity are not just ideals, but lived experiences.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
The landscape of art acquisition is evolving. Online art sales have been on the rise for several years. Buyers are interested in supporting artists directly and taking notice of artwork that they may not have had the opportunity to view previously. Acquisition of artists on the rise appears to be expanding in certain demographics.

A recent subtle shift seems to be occurring between creative vision of a subject and the perfect replication of subject. Photography seems to be gaining in those looking for perfect replication. Imperfect creative artwork appears to be trending. Both of these trends my be due to favoring the human creative effort versus AI generated images.
