Today we’d like to introduce you to Chassidy Jackson.
Hi Chassidy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey started in 2017 after moving back home after graduating from college while trying to figure out what I truly wanted to do in life. I wanted a way to make extra money while doing something I genuinely enjoyed, so in 2018 I decided to step out on faith and start creating treats. It all began with my son’s second birthday party. I was tired of paying other people for things I felt like I could learn to do myself, so I told myself, “I can do this on my own,” and that’s exactly what I did. I pulled my family together and we handled everything ourselves — from the shirts and treats to the balloons and decorations.
I come from a very DIY family, and growing up we were always trying new things creatively. Thankfully, that mindset worked in my favor. I started off making chocolate-covered strawberries, candy apples, Rice Krispie treats, and other sweets. Over time, I expanded into candied fruits, themed treats, paper crafts, party favors, shirts, and more. Since my family is talented in so many different areas — cakes, shirts, treats, decorations, and party setup — our events have always been very hands-on and family driven. We truly built things together.
Because I wanted to invest not only in myself but also in my family, I started taking classes to perfect my craft and learn more about the business side of things. Since I already worked in the restaurant industry, I was ServSafe certified, but I also took additional courses and did extensive research to make sure I was following cottage baking regulations properly.
“The Sweet Tooth Factory” officially started growing during my treat-making journey, but things really took off in 2021 when I introduced Candied Grapes to my small town. Around that same time, I also began creating shirts and customized party items, and the support from my community was amazing. I started attending local pop-up shops and would often sell out within two hours, which eventually led me to offering preorders due to demand.
As my business continued to grow, I decided to expand into party favors and custom apparel so I could become more of a one-stop shop for celebrations and events. That decision helped me reach even more clients and pushed my creativity even further.
When I later moved to Dallas, I honestly was nervous about how the move would affect my business. Starting over in a new city was scary, but I stayed consistent, posted in local groups, became more active on social media, and continued trusting God through the process. Thankfully, the clientele grew tremendously, and “The Sweet Tooth Factory” is still growing and evolving every single day.
I’m forever grateful for my family, friends, and supporters because they constantly motivate me, encourage my creativity, and remind me to keep going. What started as a hobby and a DIY birthday party for my son turned into a growing business built on faith, creativity, family, and passion.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road, but every challenge has taught me something valuable about business and about myself. One of the biggest struggles has been being a one-woman show for most of this journey. When your business is growing and people are constantly supporting you, it can become hard to say no. Early on, I struggled with taking on too many orders because I wanted to make everyone happy and prove that I could do it all. Over time, I had to learn the importance of setting boundaries, managing my time wisely, and understanding that it’s okay to refer clients to someone else when my schedule becomes overwhelming.
Another challenge has been adjusting to trends. In the treat and custom apparel industry, trends change constantly, and clients are always looking for the next big thing. At one point, I felt pressured to jump on every trend that came along because I didn’t want to miss an opportunity. Eventually, I realized that I don’t have to follow every bandwagon to be successful. I learned that what truly makes “The Sweet Tooth Factory” stand out is authenticity, creativity, and the personal touch I bring to my work.
Moving to Dallas also came with challenges because I was stepping into a completely new environment and rebuilding my clientele in a larger city. That experience pushed me to market myself more, become more active on social media, and trust the process even when things felt uncertain.
Although there have been challenges along the way, each obstacle has helped me grow stronger as both a business owner and a creative. I’ve learned how to adapt, stay true to my brand, and continue building something that genuinely represents me and my passion.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have been in education for seven years, and my journey started in Louisiana where I taught Business Education. Teaching business courses not only helped shape me professionally as an educator, but it also gave me a strong foundation in the business side of entrepreneurship and creativity. During that time, I discovered how much I enjoyed helping students connect classroom learning to real-world experiences.
After relocating to Texas, I transitioned into teaching ELA, which was honestly a huge step outside of my comfort zone. Although English was always my favorite subject growing up, I had never taught ELA before, so I was nervous and lacked confidence in the beginning. However, over the past four years, I have grown tremendously both personally and professionally as an ELA teacher.
What I specialize in most is creating engaging and meaningful learning experiences for students. I’m always looking for ways to make learning fun, relatable, and interactive because I truly enjoy seeing students have those “ah-ha” moments when something finally clicks for them. Watching students meet their academic goals, build confidence, and realize their potential is one of the most rewarding parts of my career.
I’m known for bringing creativity, energy, and authenticity into my classroom. I work hard to build strong relationships with my students while also maintaining high expectations for their growth and success.
What sets me apart is my authenticity, creativity, and willingness to grow. I’m not afraid to learn new skills, step outside of my comfort zone, or reinvent myself when necessary. Coming from a strong DIY background, I naturally approach challenges with a solution-oriented mindset, which also reflects in my teaching style. I believe in creating experiences, not just lessons, and I think students connect with the genuine passion and energy I bring into the classroom. Above all, I strive to make my students feel inspired, supported, challenged, and valued every single day.
