Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsie Burroughs.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, and my passion for media and storytelling began at a very young age. Back in elementary school, we had a “Bring Your Parent to School” day, and one of my classmates’ parents happened to be an anchor/reporter for WFAA. I still remember how fascinated I was watching him walk into our classroom with his photographer and explain what a typical day in television news looked like. At that age, I didn’t fully understand the industry yet, but I knew I was inspired by the idea of connecting with people through storytelling. Seeing someone use media to inform, connect, and impact others stayed with me long after that day, and it sparked something in me very early on.
As I got older, I began realizing that storytelling was naturally a part of who I was. I always loved writing, communicating, observing people, and learning about what shaped them into who they are. More than anything, I genuinely loved hearing people’s stories. I’ve always believed that everyone has a story worth telling. Whether it’s someone overcoming adversity, pursuing a dream, building a business, expressing themselves creatively, or simply navigating life. I think people often underestimate how powerful human connection can be, and for me, storytelling became a way to create those connections.
That passion ultimately led me into journalism. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Dallas Baptist University and later my Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of North Texas. During that time, I continued sharpening my skills in writing, storytelling, production, broadcasting, and media communication. I knew I wanted to be in spaces where I could connect with people, ask meaningful questions, and create stories that resonated with audiences in an authentic way.
Professionally, I began my career working in broadcast journalism as a morning anchor, multimedia journalist, and lifestyle host across multiple television markets. Throughout my career in news, I covered a wide range of stories: from public safety and breaking news to entertainment, lifestyle, and community features. Working in television taught me so much about adaptability, professionalism, and the responsibility that comes with telling someone’s story. It also strengthened my ability to connect with people from all walks of life and communicate in a way that feels genuine and relatable.
Over time, I realized my passion for storytelling extended beyond traditional news. While I will always value my journalism background, I started feeling called to create media that blended information with inspiration, creativity, culture, and lifestyle. I wanted to build something that reflected all the things I genuinely love; meaningful conversation, fashion, beauty, culture, confidence, and people.
Fashion and lifestyle storytelling became a natural extension of that. For me, fashion has never just been about clothes or appearances. It’s another form of storytelling and self-expression. The way people present themselves, the brands they connect with, the confidence they carry, and the stories behind those choices all fascinate me. I love blending journalism with lifestyle media because it allows me to tell stories in a more creative and multidimensional way.
Today, I work as a lifestyle host, media personality, producer, and storyteller, combining my background in journalism with my passion for fashion, beauty, culture-centered conversation, and brand collaborations. Whether I’m interviewing someone, hosting a lifestyle segment, producing content, partnering with a fashion or beauty brand, or hosting an event, my goal is always the same: to create authentic connection and make people feel seen, inspired, and empowered.
At the core of everything I do is a genuine love for people. I truly believe stories have the power to uplift, encourage, and bring people together, and I’m grateful that I get to build a career centered around doing exactly that.
In addition to my work in television and lifestyle hosting, I’ve also had the opportunity to collaborate with several fashion and beauty brands through partnerships, ambassadorships, campaigns, and hosted experiences. What I enjoy most about these collaborations is being able to blend storytelling, media, fashion, and authentic connection all into one space.
Over the past few years, I’ve partnered with brands including Marcella NYC, DeNoir Cosmetics, Elizée Shoes, LONZA brands, Portland Leather, and Monazeni. Some of these relationships have included ambassador roles, while others have involved editorial campaigns, lifestyle content creation, hosting, and brand storytelling initiatives.
As a brand ambassador for Marcella NYC and DeNoir Cosmetics, I’ve worked to create content that aligns with each brand’s identity while also staying authentic to my own voice and audience. I’ve always been intentional about partnering with brands that reflect confidence, elegance, creativity, and empowerment because those are values I genuinely connect with personally.
I’ve also participated in fashion and editorial campaigns, including an international campaign with Elizée Shoes, a luxury footwear brand whose pieces blend fashion with craftsmanship and artistry. Being involved in those types of campaigns has allowed me to step further into the world of editorial storytelling and fashion media while still maintaining the authenticity and professionalism rooted in my journalism background.
One collaboration that was especially meaningful to me was working with Monazeni, where I not only created lifestyle content and hosted a fashion segment, but also hosted and helped curate a “Dinner With the Muses” event experience at Evelyn in Dallas. That experience brought together fashion, conversation, creativity, and community in such a beautiful way, and it reminded me how much I enjoy creating spaces where storytelling and lifestyle intersect.
For me, partnerships are never just about promoting a product. I genuinely enjoy learning the story behind a brand; what inspired it, who it serves, and how it makes people feel. That’s why I love blending media with fashion and lifestyle content. It allows me to connect with audiences in a way that feels aspirational, authentic, and human at the same time.
As I continue growing in media and lifestyle hosting, I’m excited to keep building partnerships that allow me to merge journalism, storytelling, culture, fashion, beauty, and meaningful conversation in creative and impactful ways.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. While I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities I’ve had throughout my journey, there have also been a lot of personal challenges behind the scenes that people don’t always see when they look at social media, television, or polished photos.
One of the biggest struggles I’ve faced has been battling depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and moments of emotional exhaustion while trying to pursue my dreams and navigate life at the same time. I think sometimes people assume that if someone is smiling on camera, hosting events, building a brand, or accomplishing goals, that everything in their life must be perfect, but the reality is that many of us are fighting battles internally that no one else fully sees.
There have been moments in my life where anxiety felt overwhelming. Moments where fear, uncertainty, self-doubt, pressure, and emotional heaviness made it difficult to fully enjoy the things I had worked so hard for. There were times when I questioned myself, questioned my path, and struggled silently while still trying to show up professionally and keep moving forward. Panic attacks and anxiety can make you feel isolated because from the outside people may only see confidence, but internally you may be trying to calm your mind, steady your emotions, and simply make it through the day.
Working in media can also come with a unique kind of pressure. You are constantly in front of people, constantly expected to perform, deliver, look polished, and remain composed even when life feels heavy behind closed doors. There were seasons where balancing career pressures, personal growth, uncertainty about the future, and emotional struggles became extremely difficult for me mentally and emotionally.
At the same time, I think those experiences have also shaped me into a more compassionate and empathetic person. Going through difficult emotional seasons taught me how important grace, faith, and resilience truly are. It also deepened my love for people because I realized that everyone is carrying something, even if they don’t openly talk about it. That understanding changed the way I approach storytelling, conversations, and even the work I do today. I never want people to feel like they have to hide their humanity in order to be successful.
One thing that has truly kept me grounded through it all is my faith in God. There were moments where I honestly didn’t know how I was going to keep going emotionally, but my relationship with God became my source of strength during some of my hardest seasons. Prayer, faith, and trusting God through uncertainty gave me hope during moments where I felt mentally and emotionally drained. Even now, I still have moments where anxiety tries to creep in, and I’m still learning how to navigate those emotions in healthy ways. Healing is not always a perfect straight line, and I’ve learned to give myself grace through that process.
But I also believe there is purpose in overcoming. I believe some of our deepest struggles become part of the testimony that helps someone else feel less alone. That’s one of the reasons I’m passionate about storytelling and authentic connection today. I want people to know they can pursue their dreams, walk in purpose, and still be human at the same time. You can be ambitious and still have difficult days. You can be strong and still need healing. You can struggle and still keep going.
Looking back, I’m proud of myself not because everything has been easy, but because I continued moving forward even during the moments where it would have been easier to give up. And through every challenge, God has continued to remind me that my story, my voice, and my journey still have purpose.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a lifestyle host, media personality, journalist, producer, and storyteller who specializes in creating meaningful, culture-centered conversations through media, fashion, lifestyle content, and brand storytelling. My work really lives at the intersection of journalism, lifestyle media, fashion, beauty, and human connection.
At the core of everything I do is storytelling. Whether I’m interviewing someone, hosting a lifestyle segment, producing content, collaborating with a brand, emceeing an event, or creating editorial content, my goal is always to make people feel connected, inspired, and seen. I genuinely love people, and I think that naturally comes across in the way I communicate and engage with others both on and off camera.
My background in broadcast journalism gave me a strong foundation in storytelling, interviewing, producing, and on-camera communication. Throughout my career, I’ve worked as a morning anchor, multimedia journalist, and lifestyle host across multiple television markets, covering everything from breaking news and public safety stories to entertainment and community-focused features. Those experiences taught me how to connect with people from all walks of life and communicate in a way that feels authentic and relatable.
Over time, I realized I wanted to build something that blended journalism with creativity, culture, and lifestyle storytelling. That’s where fashion and beauty became a natural extension of my work. I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with brands including Marcella NYC, Elizée Shoes, DeNoir Cosmetics, and Monazeni through campaigns, ambassadorships, editorial collaborations, hosted segments, and curated events. What I love most about those partnerships is being able to tell stories in a way that feels elevated, creative, and emotionally connected rather than simply promotional.
I think what sets me apart is that I bring both media professionalism and genuine heart into everything I do. A lot of people can create content, and a lot of people can look good on camera, but I think my journalism background allows me to approach storytelling with depth, empathy, intentionality, and emotional intelligence. I’m not just interested in aesthetics. I’m interested in connection. I truly care about making people feel comfortable, heard, and valued when they interact with me or experience my work.
I also think being multi-hyphenate has become one of my strengths. I’m able to move between different spaces: television, hosting, fashion, editorial storytelling, production, lifestyle media, and brand partnerships, while still maintaining a clear sense of identity and authenticity. Everything I do is rooted in purpose, creativity, and meaningful communication.
What I’m most proud of is the fact that I’ve continued building a career and platform that genuinely reflects who I am. I’m proud that I’ve been able to evolve from traditional journalism into creating my own lane in lifestyle media while still staying true to my love for storytelling and people. I’m proud of the relationships I’ve built, the opportunities I’ve created, the brands and publications I’ve worked with, and the way my journey continues to evolve organically. I’m also incredibly grateful to have recently been featured as the back cover of Gladys Magazine’s February 2026 issue, which was a very meaningful milestone for me creatively and professionally.
Any big plans?
I’m currently in a really exciting season of growth, transition, and expansion, and I’m honestly looking forward to continuing to evolve both personally and professionally. Over the years, I’ve learned that sometimes your path unfolds in ways you never originally imagined, and right now I feel like I’m stepping into a space that blends all the things I genuinely love: storytelling, media, fashion, lifestyle, creativity, and meaningful human connection.
One of my biggest goals moving forward is continuing to grow as a lifestyle host and media personality while expanding the type of stories and conversations I’m able to create. I want to continue building platforms and opportunities that allow people to feel inspired, represented, informed, and connected. Whether that’s through interviews, lifestyle segments, digital media, fashion collaborations, curated events, or creative productions, I want my work to continue evolving in a way that feels intentional and impactful.
I’m also excited about continuing to grow within the fashion and beauty space through more editorial opportunities, brand partnerships, ambassadorships, campaigns, and collaborations that align with my values and creative vision. I love being able to blend storytelling with fashion and lifestyle media because it allows me to connect with audiences in such a creative and multidimensional way. I definitely see myself continuing to expand in that direction while building a stronger presence in both media and lifestyle entertainment.
Another area I’m looking forward to is producing more original content and continuing to create spaces for authentic conversation and storytelling. I’ve realized that I don’t just enjoy being in front of the camera. I genuinely enjoy creating, producing, curating experiences, and bringing ideas to life behind the scenes as well. As I continue growing, I want to develop more projects that merge media, culture, fashion, inspiration, and storytelling together in a fresh and meaningful way.
Personally, I’m also focused on continuing to grow emotionally, spiritually, and creatively. My journey has taught me a lot about resilience, faith, healing, and trusting God through uncertainty. I’ve learned that success means very little if you lose yourself in the process, so I’m committed to building a career that not only looks successful externally, but also feels aligned internally.
I think one of the biggest things I’m looking forward to is simply continuing to evolve into the woman and creative I know God is calling me to become. I truly believe there’s still so much more ahead for me creatively and professionally, and I’m excited to see where this journey continues to lead. Right now, I’m embracing growth, new opportunities, bigger platforms, meaningful collaborations, and the possibility of creating something lasting through the work I do.
