Today we’d like to introduce you to Douglas Reid.
Hi Douglas, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My wife and I were big fans of a ghost show on TV. My daughter bought us a tour in Dallas as a present(2014). While on that tour, we kept thinking “We can do this.” The original research took about a year before I thought I had Enough for a tour. (2015) Since then, I have received many stories from people throughout town, wanting to share their experiences. My research continues. There are still a few stories where I do not have enough information.
We Tour the Downtown Waxahachie area. Most Saturday nights. Year round.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The struggles have been the publicity or advertising. Getting the word out about my tour.. The ideal tour size is 12 – 17 participants. Most of the tours are smaller. with a lot of “did not make” dates.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I retired from the Texas Public School system. I Coached, Principaled, Coached, and ended Teaching in a Disciplinary School setting. Always a big lover of History and especially the odd Facts and stories.
