Daily Inspiration: Meet Eliza Gray

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eliza Gray.

Hi Eliza, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am a creative strategist, Brand Experience Manager, and curator of elevated experiences rooted in fashion, culture, and community. I have always loved working with small to medium labels to fine tune their brand presence and make sure they feel elevated in the face of their customer base in any medium, whether that be e commerce, events, or retail.

With over a decade of experience across styling, events, visual storytelling, e-commerce, and brand development, my work lives at the intersection of creativity and connection. From editorial features and fashion week moments to intimate gatherings and immersive showcases, I love curating experiences that feel intentional, inspiring, and memorable.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say dealing with people wanting you to stick to one thing and creatively flowing in a world that doesn’t have the structuring for it. When it comes to corporate funding, and just opportunities in more luxury spaces, there is a rigidness to that can stifle the creative process. I have learned to give it my all to connections and opportunities that serve me, and say no way more often. Not every opportunity is your opportunity, even if it sounds good. My relationship with God and following my gut has saved me from a lot of situations that could have went south, but looked good on paper. Not everyone will always understand your decisions, and you have to get used to that.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I started out in fashion styling and photography, then found myself in wholesale luxury sales, e comm marketing and visual merchandising. I do feel like if you have an eye that can carry through in multiple mediums. I have done fashion shows, trade shows, photoshoots, styling, web design. I think it also stems from me being a problem solver, if a brand asks me to help them with something, I just say when and where and get to work.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Brand authenticity and genuine connection. I feel like it is easy to get lost in the glitz and glam of fashion, but what are your roots? I love smaller to medium brands because they care about every detail and love goes into it. The fabric, the label, the store layouts, the shoots. It is a lot more fun and rewarding to work for a brand you actually believe in and identify with. I will say I do have a soft spot for small and local businesses as well as highlighting creatives of color, especially black women. We do not have nearly enough safe spaces for black women to feel free creatively to unapologetically be themselves.
