Today we’d like to introduce you to FAE
Hi FAE, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born and raised in Santiago, Chile, and I always knew I had to come to the United States to chase my dreams.
Ever since I was a little girl, I had my heart set on dedicating my life to music—singing, specifically—and making the leap to the U.S. was the crucial step to turning that dream into reality.
At first, everything felt challenging. Not only did I need to perfect my English, but I also had to navigate an entirely new culture and learn the ins and outs of the music industry. My first step was enrolling in a music school, where I took piano, singing, and dance lessons. After gaining confidence and skill there, I continued my education by earning a Music Business Certificate in college. This experience gave me invaluable knowledge and equipped me with the tools to navigate the complexities of the music industry.
But the real transformation happened when I decided to start making my own music. That’s when everything shifted. Along this journey, I met incredible people and discovered a vibrant music community where I could grow, explore, and thrive as an artist. I’ve always known exactly what I wanted, but figuring out the details has been my focus these past couple of years.
One of the most empowering moments in my journey was transitioning from my given name, “Fernanda,” to my stage name, “FAE.” It felt powerful and liberating—like I could conquer the world. Currently, I’m passionately working on my debut album and actively paving my own path in the music industry.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey has been relatively smooth, thanks to my discipline and patience. I never expect immediate results, and this mindset has helped me stay focused and consistent. However, the biggest challenges I’ve faced come from the mental strain and uncertainty that accompany this career path.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m mainly known as a singer-songwriter, crafting songs within the pop genre while incorporating elements of house and indie pop to create my distinct musical style. One of my most popular songs, “I Don’t Wanna Be Yours Again,” has reached an incredible 25k streams—a milestone I still can’t fully believe! I’m also thrilled about the growing success of another track, “We Could’ve Kept on Dancing,” which is steadily approaching 20k streams. My distinctive voice and unique sound have resonated with listeners, and I’m immensely grateful for the progress I’ve made and the overwhelming support I’ve received throughout the years.
