Today we’d like to introduce you to Harlow Haynes
Hi Harlow , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Harlow “Peachy Girl” Haynes is a 7 year old gymnastics pint sized power house in the making.
Harlow started gymnastics as soon as she could walk and She was a natural! At the young age of three, Harlow caught the attention of the legendary Simone Biles after she saw one of her videos. She encouraged her to continue to peruse her passion and keep working her craft. Which lit a fire.
Harlow’s first competitive gymnastics experience started only a few months after turning 4 as a level one gymnast at Excite gymnastics in Highland Village. Knowing Harlow was dialed in and determined, we made the switch to the world renowned Texas Dreams Gymnatics training facility.
Here, Harlow has completed levels 2-4 and currently up training knock out levels 5 and 6 in the 2025 season.
Harlow spends close to 17 hours weekly training at TDG with additional hours tumbling at Principal Tumbling in Argyle.
TDG is a 30 min commute for us. She often spends the commute catching up
On her reading, doing spelling words, putting the finishing touches on school projects, or fueling herself for a lengthy and vigorous practice. She sacrafices play dates, sleep overs, and birthday parties to chase a dream that is larger than life.
What’s the ultimate dream?
To work under TDG owner and Olympian Kim Zmeskal on her “Dream Team” on the Elite path forging her way as an Olympic hopeful or D1 power house.
Why is Harlow aka Peach a stand out? She is the tiniest, strongest, toughest, hardest working, determined, talented 7 yr old you will ever meet. You better put this girl in a room without a ceiling because the sky’s the limit and nothing is holding her back.
Some recent successes she has had:
(6 years old)
L3 Vault District Champion
L3 North Texas State Vault Champion
(7 years old)
L4 Floor District Champion
L4 North Texas State All Around
L4 Texas State Beam Champion
L4 Texas State All Around Champion
Her talent has caught the eye of national brands and is a brand representative for Ozone Leotards and training apparel, ZAthletic Home Gym training equipment, and Clay Morgan productions.
Harlow sees her hours spend at the gym as “opportunities to play with her friends” and loves to condition. She thrives when her Coaches Alex and Kennedi push her try and perfect new skills.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Some of the obstacles have been age. USAG rules don’t allow you to compete level 3 until you’re 6 and level 4 until you’re 7. Some of the girls she competes against are years older. Having to remained focused and determined is mandatory!
Another challenge is living in the metroplex. DFW is surrounded with the biggest mega gyms, producing some of the sports top athletes. DFW can be considered the gymnastics capital of the world! But to be the best, you have to compete against the best!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Although Harlow spends a lot of time in the gym, she is also a full time 2nd grade student. She enjoys read, spelling, science, and P.E. During the summers Harlow spends her mornings on the neighborhood swim team. Her favorite strokes are butterfly and backstroke. On the nights she isn’t at practice she has play dates with friends or is often found playing school or playing Barbies!
How do you think about luck?
When you spend so much time fine tuning routines and perfecting your craft, luck doesn’t play too big of a roll. Sure, we follow some silly superstitions like eating the same breakfasts on meet days, or wearing the same leo the practice before a meet. But as far as luck goes, if you perform the way you practice, and always practice hard, you don’t need luck.
