Today we’d like to introduce you to Jannett Gomez.
Hi Jannett, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Creativity has always been a part of who I am way before I even thought that it could be something more. Growing up my electives were almost always art classes, and I was always finding ways to create. I loved and still do anything hands on, from being crafty to experimenting with makeup.
I also genuinely loved documenting life. In high school I was always recording myself doing my makeup, taking pictures, making little videos, and capturing random moments. I still have so many of those clips saved on my drive today. Friends would always ask me, “Why are you taking a picture of that?” or “Why are you recording this?” and my answer was always the same: “for the mems.” At the time it was never that serious to me. I just loved having memories to look back on and found joy in creating and capturing moments.
Back then, I didn’t fully understand that content creation was even a thing people could build careers or businesses from. It was simply something I enjoyed.
After graduating college and moving from Waco to Dallas, I was exposed to more creators, opportunities, and possibilities. That’s when I decided to start taking posting more seriously instead of treating it as something I only did for fun.
That eventually led me to launch Happily Edited Tx, where I combine that same love for creating beauty and lifestyle into wedding and event content creation. I’m still growing and evolving, but looking back now, it feels like I’ve been doing some version of this my whole life I just didn’t have a name for it yet.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I wish I could say it has been easy, but the truth is, it hasn’t. One of my biggest challenges in the beginning was consistency and making the time for something I cared about while still figuring everything else out. I also struggled with confidence and questioning whether I could actually succeed. It’s easy to talk yourself out of trying before you even give yourself the chance.
I don’t think life is ever a completely smooth road. There will always be challenges, but I do believe things become easier with time, consistency, and continuing to show up even when progress feels slow.
Something I’m especially grateful for is having an amazing support system. My fiancé, family and friends have always encouraged me. They push me to keep going, and remind me to believe in myself even during moments when I doubt myself.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a content creator, and my main niches are beauty and lifestyle, but my work has grown into a few different areas over time. I also create UGC (user-generated content), which is content created for brands to use on their own platforms. Alongside that, I’m also a wedding and event content creator through my business Happily Edited Tx.
One thing I love about creating content is that there are so many different routes you can take. Some creators focus on entertainment, others on education, travel, fashion, cooking, family, and so much more. There is many ways to grow as a creator without having to just stay in one lane.
One of the moments I’m most proud of was finally starting Happily Edited. I procrastinated on launching for almost a year because I was scared. I was mostly scared that nobody would book me. But my best friend who is a photographer, basically pulled my ear one day and said, “Let’s go.” That push was exactly what I needed. Taking that leap ended up becoming one of the best decisions I’ve made. Thankfully, I have been consistently booking events every month, and seeing 2027 slowly start to fill up has been such a surreal and rewarding feeling.
The second moment I’m most proud of was working with Walmart through my lifestyle content. That felt surreal because when you’re a nano creator, you don’t always expect larger brands to notice your work. It reminded me that opportunities aren’t always tied to follower count and that showing up consistently matters.
What sets me apart is that I try to do everything with intention in both my personal life and in my work. I care deeply about creating meaningful content and always strive to be the best version of myself. Whether I’m creating for my own audience, working with a brand, or capturing someone’s wedding day, I want people to feel that care and authenticity through what I create.
How do you think about happiness?
Steering away from the business side of things.. my loved ones. I’m a very family oriented person and I love being surrounded by the people I care about. I love love. Not just the romantic kind of love, but the kind you feel through quality time, support, and simply doing life together.
I feel that love deeply with my family and my friends. As I’ve gotten older, I have realized how valuable it is to have people around you who support you, celebrate your wins, and show up during difficult seasons too. Those relationships mean everything to me.
I also really value making time for myself. Life gets busy, and having a completely free day where I have absolutely nothing I need to do feels rare. So when I get one, I take full advantage of it. Sometimes that looks like slowing down, doing absolutely nothing, treating myself, creating something for fun, or simply spending time alone and recharging
