Daily Inspiration: Meet Jeremiah Bledsoe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremiah Bledsoe.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My sports videography journey started after my senior year football season. Growing up, I always loved watching movies and going to the theater to experience the excitement and emotion that films could create. At a young age, I knew I wanted to work in the film industry, but I was not sure what role I wanted to pursue, whether that was becoming a filmmaker, producer, or director. Everything changed when I met a young videographer who filmed for my high school football team during my junior year. He was a sports videographer from Fort Worth who created incredible videos for social media, and I became fascinated with the idea of sports storytelling through film. I asked him for advice on how to get started, and he encouraged me to chase it despite any adversity or hardship that could come along the way. That conversation gave me confidence and made me believe I could build a future in this field.

Soon after, my parents bought me my first camera, a Canon M50, and that was the beginning of everything. I started filming my friends who were athletes and eventually began creating content for my high school basketball team. Over the years, I connected with videographers throughout the Dallas Fort Worth area who became close friends and mentors. I continued growing as a sports videographer by filming football, basketball, and private training sessions across multiple sports. Along the way, I learned valuable lessons about storytelling, discipline, consistency, and creativity.

Eventually, I faced one of the biggest decisions of my life. I had to choose whether I wanted to continue pursuing football or take a risk by stepping away from the game to attend The University of Texas at Austin. After many conversations with my family and friends, I decided to trust my instincts and follow a new path at Texas. It was a meaningful decision for my family because both of my grandparents and my aunt attended the university, and they were incredibly excited when I made that choice.

When I arrived at Texas, I was blessed with the opportunity of a lifetime. I was selected to join the Texas Football Creative Internship program. That experience taught me that sports media is much more than filming highlights. It is about telling meaningful stories that emotionally connect people to a team, a culture, and a purpose. Through this internship, I learned how to work in fast paced environments, create under pressure, and collaborate with athletes, coaches, and creatives while meeting demanding deadlines. I am incredibly grateful for my bosses and coworkers who constantly pushed me to grow creatively and professionally while supporting me every step of the way. Their mentorship, leadership, and belief in me helped shape not only the storyteller I have become, but also the person I am today. My time with Texas Football showed me the power of authentic storytelling and confirmed my passion for pursuing a career in sports media and creative production.

I was also given the opportunity to work with Nike EYBL, which allowed me to continue growing as a creative on a national level. Being surrounded by some of the top athletes, creatives, and brands in basketball taught me the importance of professionalism, attention to detail, and creating content that truly connects with people. That experience challenged me to elevate my creativity and continue pushing myself as a storyteller.

Four years later, I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Radio, Television, and Film. During my time at Texas, I graduated as part of Moody Honors and was blessed to receive several accomplishments and opportunities that shaped my college experience. Now, I am preparing for my next chapter as I move to San Antonio to join the UTSA Football Creative Team as a Creative Producer. I am incredibly excited for this opportunity, but even more grateful for the journey God has placed in front of me. I thank Him every day for the opportunities, relationships, and support He has provided throughout my life.

If there is one piece of advice I can share, it is to never be afraid to change your dreams. There will be roadblocks, setbacks, and moments when you want to quit. During those difficult times, remember the younger version of yourself who was excited to chase that dream in the first place. Stay faithful, keep working, and trust the process because one day it will all pay off.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely was not a smooth road, especially during my internship with Texas Football. Coming into such a high level environment as a young creative was intimidating at first, and there were times when I questioned if I truly belonged there. I was surrounded by extremely talented people, and it took time for me to build confidence in myself and my abilities. The internship was very demanding, and learning how to balance school, filming, editing, game days, and personal life was a huge challenge. There were many late nights, long hours, and moments where I felt overwhelmed trying to meet expectations and continue improving creatively. However, those experiences pushed me to grow both professionally and personally. My boss and coworkers believed in me, challenged me to be better, and helped me become more confident in my storytelling and work ethic. Looking back, those difficult moments were some of the most important parts of my journey because they helped prepare me for where I am today.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a filmmaker, sports videographer, and creative storyteller who specializes in cinematic sports content and long form storytelling. Over the years, I have built my work around capturing the emotion, pressure, culture, and human side of athletics rather than only focusing on highlights. I am most known for my work with Texas Football, where I had the opportunity to create content that connected fans to the program in a more authentic and emotional way. I have also worked with Nike EYBL, which allowed me to continue growing as a creative on a national stage while working around some of the top athletes and brands in basketball.

One thing I am most proud of is the journey itself. I started with a simple Canon M50 filming my friends and local athletes in Fort Worth, and over time I turned that passion into opportunities I once only dreamed about. I am also proud of graduating from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Radio, Television, and Film while balancing internships, leadership roles, creative projects, and personal growth throughout college.

What sets me apart is my approach to storytelling. I try to create work that makes people feel something. I focus heavily on emotion, atmosphere, pacing, and authenticity because I believe sports are about much more than the final score. I want my content to feel cinematic and meaningful while still staying true to the people and stories being told. I also think my ability to connect with athletes and people on a personal level helps me tell stories in a way that feels genuine and relatable.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something surprising that most people do not know about me is that I originally thought football would be my entire future. A lot of people know me now through my creative work and sports storytelling, but there was a point in my life where putting the camera down and continuing football seemed like the safer and more expected path. Choosing to step away from the game and fully bet on myself creatively was honestly one of the hardest decisions I have ever made.

What is interesting is that even though I no longer play football, the mindset I learned from the sport still drives everything I create today. The discipline, pressure, preparation, leadership, and emotional intensity that come with athletics are the same things that shape my storytelling style. I think that is why my work feels personal and emotional to a lot of people because I understand the athlete experience from both sides of the camera.
