Daily Inspiration: Meet Katherine Hesami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katherine Hesami.

Hi Katherine, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born in Dallas Tx. I am married to the love of my life Josh Hesami. We got married at The Women’s Museum at Fair Park in Dallas Texas in 2014. It was the most amazing day of my life. We are new parents! In November 2021 we gave birth to our beautiful daughter.

I started blogging, creating content, and sharing my passion for home decor and fashion in 2016. However, it all really started for me as a child in Dallas, Tx. I used to spend my free time growing up redecorating and rearranging my room along with putting as many outfits together as I could. This year, 2022 I decided it was time to fully launch my YouTube channel where I can share all the things, I’m passionate about. Interior Design, Fashion, Beauty, Travel, and Music are mainly what I focus on but my overall goal is to be a positive example for young women!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The journey of being a content creator has been really hard at times. It’s not as easy as it looks. You have to wear many hats and be willing to push yourself to grow and adapt constantly. However, those struggles actually caused me to grow and learn new skills. I am privileged because my husband, Josh Hesami, is an extremely talented film director and has taught me many skills such as cinematography, video editing, color grading, and marketing. It’s been really awesome to get to learn these skills from one of the best! I’ve had to apply all of these skills to being a blogger.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in interior design and fashion. I recently remodeled our home and have been sharing that on my social platforms. I’ve studied interior design and fashion for years. I love to pull in the latest styles but always love to infuse my Venezuelan, Spanish and Basque heritage into everything I do. My design style is very inspired by the past and the future mixed together. I like to study what’s happening all over the world in fashion and design but make it tangible and affordable to those around me.

I was raised by an amazing single parent and often the budget was too tight for extra things like room decor. As a teenager, I would often go to a park and break off a few branches to display in my room or even grab a few vintage books from a thrift store and use affordable items to make my space more special. I really believe that your home influences all areas of your life. For my husband and I, our home is where we pull a lot of creative inspiration from to be able to create content. I love to share new design ideas and findings with my followers and teach them how to create a beautiful space.

I’m also very passionate about music. I’ve had some really fun opportunities to sing at Decks in the Park at Klyde Warren Park along with my sister, Grace Castro. A few years ago, we also opened up for the artist Madeon when he came to Dallas. I love working on music and hope to release a single soon!

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I feel like Dallas is an amazing city to network in. People here are often very friendly and well connected. One great way to network is on social platforms. Use hashtags to find people who are into areas you are interested in growing in. For example, if you are wanting to start blogging in Dallas look up the hashtag #Dallasbloggers and you’ll find a ton of people interested in the same thing. I’ve made a few friends this way! As far as finding a mentor, you can be mentored by following someone’s social platforms and learning from them on there. I’ve done that with many local Dallas designers! It’s awesome to live in a time where everyone is passionate about connecting and sharing what they know!
