Today we’d like to introduce you to Libero Kinnear.
Hi Libero, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
O gosh I came to the States from South Africa in 2003, with a suitcase a dream and about 50 bucks in my pocket.I worked as a shark wrangler for the first few years, then moved on to working with sea lions, then big. Cats , elephants and then travelled all over the U. S with a racing pig show ( the only state I haven’t seen …YET…is Alaska 🙂 During my travels I fell in love with Texas and it’s people,In 2016 I settled here and started doing Ranch work,and about 4 years ago I met the love of my life , my beautiful wife Noreen we got married on Star Wars day last year 🙂 we have 2 Amazing kiddos and about 4 months ago, I decided that I wanted to be more for my kids than just a dad with a job. So with the support of my rockstar of a wife behind me I started my Lawnscaping company, Apex Lawn Co. Just a man,A Mower and a dream lol. Working for yourself is not for the faint hearted lol but I wanted to be able to leave my kids with something a little more than money one day…..in South Africa I grew up with a single mom who sometimes worked 3 jobs to provide for us, she was a dang superhero if you ask me, but that’s not the life I want for my kids as in dads gone working all the time… I want to be present for all the things lol which is the biggest reason why I started my company. You gotta risk it to get the biscuit rite?! And my “biscuit” is time with my family….. Is it Easy? Heck No… Is it Worth it? Absolutely!!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth Road ? Definitely not 🙂 Gosh let’s see … well for starters I chose to start a lawn care business in East Texas lol… its a very competitive and saturated market and it’s Texas in the summer time ,, but I love a challenge

I am the Sod Father. A Mow tivational speaker,a lawn enforcement officer if you will. Jk jk but not really . I own and operate Apex Lawn Co. I make peoples lawns look so good,their neighbors lawns send them a friend request…I specialise in crisp edges straight lines and showing up on time.What I’m most proud of ? That’s easy, My tribe (my beautiful wife and our kids) What sets me apart from others? I treat your yard like it’s my yard
