Today we’d like to introduce you to Marlyn Rojas-Montgomery.
Hi Marlyn, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Marlyn Rojas, was born June 24, in the Bronx New York, into a loving family, yet non-believers, from the Dominican Republic. At age 12, Marlyn encountered the Lord at a Christmas church service and accepted the Lord as her Lord and Savior. Soon after, she was baptized in water and by Holy Spirit. Yet kept living a life for a few years with one foot in God and one foot out.
Today, Marlyn is a servant who is in LOVE with her Lord and who, through God’s grace, has been able to serve in many areas of the church throughout her 23 years in ministry.
Before serving for a brief period of time as a New York Police Office, Marlyn graduated with her Bachelor’s of Science at the young age of 19, worked different jobs and fields, and completed biblical seminary, and on the way to obtaining a second Bachelor in theology.
After obeying God and resigning NYPD in 2016; God began to take her into the next season of ministry. She is an entrepreneur, who by vocation specializes as a Certified Life, Relationship, and Author’s Coach. Servant Rojas, is also the founder of the Radiant Woman Int Community and Ministry, Hands to Serve Kingdom Faith Community, and founder of Hands To Serve Foundation, reaching and helping people locally and internationally in other countries, such as Panama, Ecuador, Haiti, The Dominican Republic, and Kenya, Africa, serving the needs of orphans, widows, and the people for the past 3 years.
She simultaneously serves and train others the Gift of Interpreting, helping to grow bilingual ministries and organizations. She also serves as a clergy, wedding officiant, Notary Public, a New York State Court Interpreter, speaker, and a published author of the book Distorted, written in both English and Spanish.
In 2022, Marlyn became a New York Chaplain and soon after, God called her to serve as the Lead Pastor at Trinity Church Conexion Latina; Hispanic Campus in Dallas, Cedar Hill, TX.
Through everything Marlyn does, she has ONE GOAL in her heart; Reflecting the Christ that lives in her, that literally rescued her to live out the life He intended for her to live. As one of her favorite verses reads: for everything is of Him, Through Him, and to Him. All Glory to Him. (Rom 11:36)
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve walked through a number of significant challenges that have shaped both my character and my leadership. I’ve experienced rejection, church hurt, and seasons of being falsely accused, even when serving others wholeheartedly. My time with the NYPD exposed me to intense situations early on—many of which seasoned officers had not yet encountered—which strengthened my resilience and discernment. Personally, I grew up seeing instability in my parents’ marriage due to unfaithfulness, and later experienced abandonment in my own marriage, which I now understand through a lens of growth and purpose. I have since remarried into a healthy, faith-centered marriage, though not without continued challenges, including a difficult season with fibroids that led to miscarriage and surgery. Throughout ministry, I’ve also navigated the pain of people misunderstanding or misrepresenting me. However, these experiences have deepened my empathy, strengthened my integrity, and refined my leadership. If given the choice, I would walk through it all again, because every part of the journey has been used to shape who I am today and how I serve others with authenticity, strength, and purpose.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I do work at the church office 4 days of the week, however I also own a Coaching LLC business and Founder of Hands to Serve, inc a 501(c)3 Foundation. I serve in every way possible in all things that I do.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Coaching more leaders in all fields to truly expand their servant-leadership skills to new heights.
