Today we’d like to introduce you to Nafeesa Peoples.
Hi Nafeesa, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started London-Mo’Lan Accessories back in 2014 in Hickory Hills, Il which is named after my daughter. We relocated to Texas in 2017. I’ve always had a love for fashion since I was a little girl. I enjoyed dressing up from head to toe and looking good. My friends would always ask me what should they wear and I would assist them. I realized then that it was a passion to help women look good. Once I gave my life back to Christ & started LMA I understood the assignment. Which was to help women realize the beautiful souls that they are inside as well as outside. It’s one thing to look good on the outside but feels horrible on the inside. So, I begin to create events as well as shows to pull out the greatness, stories & testimonies that has been locked up inside these women that had them bound to fear. When I see other women heal and smile it makes my heart happy just to know that they didn’t give up or allow that thing to defeat or hold them back.
When women purchase attire & accessories from LMA it’s not just about a sale, it’s about helping that woman to see who God created her to be. The saying about when you do what you love doesn’t feel like work is true. When I’m styling women it comes natural and it’s my pleasure to be a part of bringing a smile to their faces.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road
No, it haven’t been a smooth road during the process of relocating to another state, for one I had a location that people knew of verses a state where I knew no one so I started online. However, being a people person and getting out being sociable definitely helped me along this journey. There are late nights & long hours that entail coming up with strategies how to move forward and adjust to the new trends & the latest fashion looks. At the end of the day when I see my vision coming to life with what started with a thought, it overwhelms my heart with joy.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I style men, women & children from pieces that I create which is a blessing from above. I see it in my spirit, put it on paper & I create them with love. I love to see my clients smile & say that’s exactly what I wanted makes my heart melt. I teach the CEO which is 8 years of age & the President which is 10, how to work for themselves and how to do it with love. What sets this boutique apart from others are this is a family business with my daughters who know how to run it and carry out the vision for themselves. I’ve been blessed with daughters that love looking good & assisting others to shine bright like the diamonds they are.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I have taken risks several times when it came to setting up events on a budget but trusting that which God placed in my spirit and I stood back and watched what he said would happen take place
