Daily Inspiration: Meet Norman Matthew

Today we’d like to introduce you to Norman Matthew.

Norman Matthew

Hi Norman, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Billboard charting producer, mixer and songwriter. Featured on SiriusXMx, Xbox & NBC. All possible to those who have believed in, supported and never wavered through all the ups, downs & struggles through the years. Forever grateful 🙏🏼

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Learning life is not about me, life is about the us, the bigger picture. Learned a lot the hard way. There were may not so fun times. Vulnerable times. Times life spun out of control. But, the true believers pulled me through the journey. Dropping the ego & thinking of the world as a whole. I am lighter and weightless 🙂 It’s not about what you’ve done. It’s what you do with it and after it. I learned from many great people that “the only reason to be looking down at someone is because you are reaching out and arm to pull them up!”. I had to hit my bottom to start the rebuild off the knowledge of all the lessons life taught me.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
A musician since birth, at least it feels that way. It’s all I have ever really done. Music chose me out the gate. From touring the world to a Billboard charting producer, mixer and songwriter, featured on SiriusXM, Xbox & NBC. It’s all been a dream I am so incredibly thankful for. But, hands-down. The one thing I am most proud of is being a father to my 12-year-old son, Dexter! No stage, audience, accolade, or obstacle could compare to or diminish the honor of being a father to him. Nothing else compares. What sets me apart from others? Having been on both sides of the coin in life. It has taught me humility, vulnerability, patience, and forgiveness. Offering second chances and Opening my mind to others and their experiences they have endured and how to turn that into a positive! Life is short. Patience, love and forgiveness is forever.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Dallas is the New York of the south! The melting pot of culture, business, sports and entrepreneurship is amazing! There isn’t a thing I dislike about Dallas other than maybe those extra warm summers ha ha ha!
