Today we’d like to introduce you to Omega Stallworth.
Hi Omega, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up in a military family of 12 in Pensacola, Florida. I was taught that staying physically active was very important, and exercise and playing sports became some of my favorite things to do. I moved to Texas in high school and attended Texas Christian University where I played football and studied Kinesiology. Now as a football coach, trainer, and health professional, it is my joy and passion to share what I know with as many people as possible.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My road, as it is for many others, was filled with different obstacles. Changing states and schools in high school wasn’t easy, and I faced many academic challenges along the way to ensure that I graduated and finished strong the way I wanted to. I even changed my major in college. It was a hard situation to face when I realized the thing, I thought I wanted to do all my life (engineering) was not what I wanted to do at all. However, I didn’t give up when things got tough, and it’s made me the person I am today; stronger and more diligent than ever before.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a running back/ strength & conditioning coach for Nolan Catholic High School. I also am a proud trainer of Camp Gladiator in Fort Worth, Texas. Outside of these two endeavors, I train clients at my alma mater TCU am a private health coach, and I work with several clients in the area.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
I’ve had many people guide me and help me along my journey to get me to where I am at now. Some of the ones that come to mind are Rya Keller, Misty Harris, and Stacy Buky. Ryan Keller has been a mentor, friend, and professor of mine for several years. I have learned a lot of what I know about Strength & Conditioning from him, and as the southwest regional director of the National Strength & Conditioning Association, he’s helped me get certified through this organization. Misty and Stacy were an instrumental part in helping me join Camp Gladiator as a trainer. They have shown me everything I know about how to go into the community and be a positive change that’s extremely needed by changing lives through physical fitness.
