Hi Adam, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my first internet marketing business in 1994 in a garage and built that into a company with over 30 employees in three states. In 2003, I started another online marketing company, which quickly grew into over 70 employees in two states. In 2014, I decided to focus my efforts on the addiction space, helping those with substance abuse issues get the help they need. Dallas Drug Treatment Centers was launched to help those in the local community find resources for themselves or their loved ones seeking treatment for addiction.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
At my first agency, we were at the right place at the right time, with the emergence of digital search engines. We were able to get clients introduced to this new form of marketing that was much more efficient than what they have traditionally been using. I do however remember having to cash in the change jar at times as building the business was not easy, especially being so young and lacking experience. My second agency was a bit easier to build; however we were not the first to market and had more competition. With addiction, the challenge was learning a vertical that was completely alien to me. This was extremely challenging, coupled with the fact that many of the forms of marketing that I have used over the past 20 years were not effective in the addiction space.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Unfortunately, I do not see the a reduction on the usage and abuse of drugs and alcohol in the near future. My hope however, is to make getting help more accessible. Currently, those without a private insurance policy that have Medicare or Medicaid have to go to state or federal facilities, which generally have waiting lists and are not on par with private treatment centers. My hope is that more people will get access to private health insurance, enabling them to have a better chance at recovery.
