Today we’d like to introduce you to Allen Reeder.
Allen, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Elevation Windows was started from scratch with a simple vision: to provide honest, high-quality window solutions while serving our local community with integrity. Although the business itself is just over a year old, my journey in the window industry spans more than 25 years.
I began my career as a window installer working for big-box stores, learning the trade from the ground up and gaining a deep understanding of how windows should be properly installed. Over time, I transitioned into sales for those same big-box stores and was very successful in that role. Seeing the industry from both the installation and sales sides gave me a unique perspective—understanding not only how to sell windows, but how to do the job right after the sale. Those experiences ultimately gave me the confidence and knowledge to start Elevation Windows.
In our first year in business, we reached $500,000 in sales—something I’m incredibly grateful for. That growth did not come without challenges. The window industry is highly competitive, and we’ve faced our share of setbacks. There have been moments where we’ve been knocked down, but each time we’ve chosen to get back up, learn from it, and keep moving forward.
Elevation Windows is truly a family-owned business. What started with just me has grown to include my wife and daughter, and we’ve recently taken a major step forward by hiring our first manager. Watching the company grow from a small family operation into a developing team has been one of the most rewarding parts of the journey.
Early on, we explored outside investment, but when that didn’t materialize, we decided to bet on ourselves. We took what we had earned and continually reinvested it back into the company—improving our processes, strengthening our team, and building something sustainable the right way.
Above all, we love our community. Being a local, family-owned business means more to us than just doing work—it means serving our neighbors, building trust, and standing behind what we install. Elevation Windows exists because of the support of our community, and we’re committed to giving that same support back.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. The window industry is highly competitive, and as a new, locally owned business, we’ve had to fight for every opportunity. There were moments early on when we were knocked down—losing jobs we felt confident about, facing cash-flow pressure, and learning the hard lessons that only come from building something from the ground up.
One of the biggest challenges was not having outside investors. We explored that path, but when no one was interested, we had to rely solely on what we earned. That meant being disciplined, reinvesting everything back into the company, and sometimes growing slower than we wanted to—but it also forced us to build a strong foundation the right way.
Another challenge was transitioning from working in the business to building a business. Going from installer, to salesperson, to business owner required learning new skills quickly—systems, leadership, hiring, and trusting others with responsibilities that once fell only on me. That process came with setbacks, but it also shaped the company into something sustainable.
Through it all, we stayed focused on doing right by our customers and our community. Every obstacle has reinforced why we started Elevation Windows in the first place—to build something honest, resilient, and lasting. Each challenge has made us stronger, more disciplined, and more committed to long-term growth.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Elevation Windows is a local, family-owned window replacement company built on experience, integrity, and service. We specialize in residential window replacement, focusing on quality products, proper installation, and honest communication. Our goal isn’t to be the biggest company—it’s to be the most trusted.
What sets us apart is our background. With more than 25 years in the window industry—starting as an installer and later becoming a successful salesperson for big-box stores—I’ve seen every side of the business. That experience allows us to educate homeowners, not pressure them, and to stand behind both what we sell and how it’s installed.
We’re known for doing things the right way. As a local, family-run company, our reputation matters. Our customers are a name, not a number, and every job is personal. We treat each home as if it were our own.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the trust we’ve earned in a short amount of time. In our first year, we reached $500,000 in sales while reinvesting everything back into the company. That growth reflects satisfied customers and strong community support.
What I want readers to know is that Elevation Windows is built for the long term. We love serving our community and building lasting relationships, not quick transactions. When someone chooses Elevation Windows, they’re choosing experience, honesty, and a team that truly cares.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that doing things the right way takes patience and consistency. Experience helps, but resilience and humility matter more when things don’t go as planned. When you focus on serving people well and stay disciplined through setbacks, long-term growth follows.
