Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Hooten.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Real estate has never just been a career for me, it has always been a part of who I am. Long before I ever held a license, I was immersed in the industry through my grandmother, who was a powerhouse Realtor for over 30 years. Some of my earliest memories are not just of homes, but of the work behind them. I was the kid holding a paintbrush, helping get rental properties ready, and sitting in on client events without fully realizing the impact it would have on me.
At the time, it just felt like being part of her world. Looking back, it is where I first learned what it really means to serve people well, to build relationships, and to be consistent in the way you show up for others.
Before officially stepping into real estate, I took a different path that shaped me in ways I could have never expected. I spent several years traveling across the United States as an independent insurance adjuster, working natural disaster catastrophes. I handled everything from hurricane claims to liability losses, helping homeowners navigate some of the most overwhelming and difficult moments of their lives.
That experience changed me. It taught me how to stay calm under pressure, how to communicate clearly in emotional situations, and how to truly advocate for people when they need someone in their corner. I was often meeting people on their worst days, and that perspective has stayed with me.
When my husband and I made the decision to move back to Texas and put down roots, everything came full circle. I stepped confidently into real estate, knowing it was where I was meant to be. In 2019, I became both licensed and married, and soon after began growing our family, all while building a career, raising three boys, and a life that I am incredibly proud of.
What I have built since then is more than just a business. It is something deeply personal, rooted in my experiences, my values, and the community I am so grateful to be a part of.
Today, I approach real estate with the understanding that every transaction represents something much bigger. It is a major life moment, and I do not take that lightly. My role is not just to help my clients buy or sell a home, but to guide them through the process with honesty, care, and a steady presence they can trust.
For me, it has never been about the transaction. It is about the people, the relationships, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact in their lives.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has definitely not been a smooth road, but I truly believe nothing worth having ever is. The last seven years have been a roller coaster in the best and hardest ways. Every year has required me to pivot, to restructure, to rebrand, and to realign, not just personally, but professionally as well. That is the nature of real estate, it is constantly evolving.
I have built my business through some of the most unpredictable market conditions. From navigating the uncertainty of COVID, to the intensity of a hyper-competitive seller’s market, to the shift into rising interest rates and affordability challenges, each season has brought its own set of obstacles. I have also walked alongside clients who feel the pressure of waiting too long to buy, especially first-time homebuyers who are trying to make the “perfect” decision in an imperfect market. One of the biggest things I remind them is that it is always a great time to own real estate, it just has to be the right time for you.
On a personal level, I was starting from the ground up in many ways. I was new to Texas, newly married, becoming a mom, and building a business all at the same time. I did not have a sphere of influence to rely on, and I remember being told more than once not to even try real estate without one. I am so grateful I did not listen.
Because of that, I built my business differently. It was built on consistency, on relationships, and on truly showing up for people. It was not easy, but it was intentional.
Looking back, the challenges are what shaped me the most. They pushed me to grow, to stay grounded, and to lead with purpose. And at the end of the day, being trusted to walk alongside someone during such a major life moment is what makes every bit of that journey worth it.
We’ve been impressed with Hooten Homes Real Estate Group – Powered by Compass, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started Hooten Homes Real Estate Group with a clear purpose to serve people, not just close transactions. Real estate is one of the biggest decisions someone will ever make, and I believe it deserves a level of care, communication, and guidance that goes far beyond the basics.
My passion for this business is deeply personal. I have relocated my own life across six different states, so I understand firsthand what it means to start over in a new place. The excitement, the uncertainty, the stress, and all the moving parts that come with it. It is not just a transaction, it is a major life transition. That experience shaped how I serve my clients today with empathy, clarity, and a steady hand through every step of the process.
At Hooten Homes Real Estate Group, the intention is simple: make the process feel manageable, informed, and even enjoyable. Whether you are needing to sell, upgrade your home for a growing family, downsize as an empty nester, or expand your rental portfolio, you deserve someone who understands your goals and knows how to help you get there.
Real estate is not just something I do professionally, it is something I live. My family and I own a handful of rental properties ourselves, so I understand firsthand the pressure that comes with owning investment properties. From preparing a home for the market, to handling maintenance, to getting it leased within a manageable timeframe, I know what it takes and what is at stake.
I specialize in listings, relocation, and first time home buyers. Whether you are preparing to sell your current home, moving across the state or across the country, or buying your very first home, my goal is to make sure you feel confident, educated, and supported from start to finish.
More than anything, I want my clients to feel taken care of. Because this is not just about real estate it is about where life happens next.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My biggest piece of advice is consistency over everything. You cannot build a career based on how you feel that day. There will be days you feel motivated and inspired, and you should absolutely take advantage of those. But there will also be days where you question everything, and those are the days that matter the most. You have to learn how to tune out the noise, stay grounded in your “why,” and keep showing up anyway.
When I first started, I remember wishing someone would just hand me a blueprint. What do I say, what do I do, what is the right way to build this? Looking back now, I am actually grateful I did not have that, because it forced me to figure it out for myself. No one is you, and no one is going to build a business exactly the way you will. That is your advantage.
You have to lean into what makes you different and trust that you will attract the clients who are meant to work with you. For me, that has always been education. I want my clients to walk away from a transaction fully understanding every step and every document they sign. I want them to feel confident, informed, and comfortable asking questions at any point in the process.
I believe being involved in your community is essential. It can look different for everyone, whether that is showing up to local events, pouring into organizations, or simply building genuine, lasting relationships. That is where real trust is formed. For me, that has meant serving on my child’s PTA, staying active in local meetings, and being involved with the Government Affairs Subcommittee through MetroTex Association of Realtors.
At the end of the day, everyone’s brand will look different, and that is exactly how it should be. The key is figuring out what makes you strong, where you can provide the most value, and how you can serve your community in a way that leaves it better than you found it.
