Today we’d like to introduce you to Ebony Skinner.

Hi Ebony, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had a passion for helping others, prior to my work as a Professional Counselor. I found an interest in Psychology as an undergraduate student, from there I went on to obtain graduate degree’s to work as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Throughout my career, I have worked in various mental health related setting all of which led me to where I am today.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I feel like challenges or obstacles may be present over the course of one’s journey. I believe that the response to the challenges and the support that you have along the way can make a significant difference. I’ve faced struggles along the way, which I believe have helped me to grow in various aspects. I also have been very fortunate to have an amazing support system.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Mindful Purpose-Guided Counseling Services, LLC is a practice that offers counseling services in Crowley, Texas and the surrounding area. I offer in-office and virtual visits ( in Texas). I work with Individuals, Families and Couples. I also provide Clinical Supervision. My approach is collaborative and individualized. I work with clients who may struggle at times with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief/loss and relational issues.

How do you define success?
I believe the definition of success is as unique as the person who is defining it. I believe success can look like showing up everyday in whatever capacity one is capable to do so. Success can look like being able to accomplish the day’s task. I also believe we can find success in accomplishing personal goals and creating a life that we desire. I feel like the measure of success is a personal one. I believe that what we define as success can shift and change as a person evolves and grows.
