Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started as an advisor in 2008, and then transitioned into full-time leadership/management in 2015.
Today, I am the Chief Development Officer of the largest Northwestern Mutual office in the system.
There has been a ton of support given to me through the years from great mentors, Like our current managing partner, Tait Cruse.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. There’s always something unexpected that that has happened along the way. I even left my current company for three years, and went through a really hard career season when I was trying to figure out what I was called to do.
Some of the biggest struggles had to do with figuring out my mission, and gaining clarity around my values.
Once I understood my mission and values, things seemed to fall in alignment much quicker.
So one of my biggest pieces of advice for people trying to figure out what they are supposed to do in life is to get clarity on what they are good at, what they enjoy doing, and getting aligned with an organization that matches their values
