Hi Lorenzo , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
There is a picture that got my dad in a big heap of trouble with mom, of me in his arms 3 feet from a roaring fire holding a stick of pecan wood. To say I have been barbecuing since before I could walk isn’t an understatement. I have always enjoyed the art of the challenge in producing “smoked excellence”.
Growing up barbecue was so commonplace amongst my immediate community that I assumed it was a skill most pitmasters possessed….that was FALSE. I resolved myself to restore the Prominence of “Texas BBQ” from these pit thieves who would use the same nomenclature just because they are Texas based. One delicious plate at a time I am to break the new trend of 40, 50, 60 dollars combo plates, with a kids size serving of sides, and mediocre flavors that must be drowned in sauce to approach satisfactory.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has not been as smooth as I expected but I can now appreciate the journey. The fact of the matter is that getting a group or individual to stop and try a brand new unproven product, especially with how seriously us Texans take our barbecue, can be a high hurdle at times. But I will be the first to acknowledge that it makes the conversation that much better when it does happen.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I specialize in all things smoke. There isn’t a protein that I won’t attempt to throw on the grill, but I have a very very wide range of general cooking skills.
I offer full scale catering services as well.
What sets me apart from the others is…everything: My pricing is economically conscious, my portions are filling and most importantly my flavors are PRESENT and delicious.
I take the most pride in the feedback I get from every single customer confirming that my mission is still being followed and accomplished in the name of Texas Smoke.
Mainly I just want people to know I and my company exist. And there money with me will always be a solid investment.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Customer feedback: Those closed eyes followed by a smile, the “shut upppp”, “omg”, “dude this is ridiculous”. There’s is no better feeling for me.
