Today we’d like to introduce you to Peter Rabbit Jr.
Hi Peter, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always been in music as a child. Involved in church choir, school choir and community choir. I went to college at Prairie View A&M university. I was working for a local magazine in Dallas and all the new artists would show up to interviews and didn’t have the basic knowledge or skills needed for a new artists. I would have to help them out and give pointers. One of the artists P.R. Representative saw me a concert and told me that because of my help the artist was signed to a label. She herself received a promotion based the help I provided to the artist. From that point on I started my musical journey on my own. The first artist I worked with on my own was named Marcella’s Clay and that lead to a platinum selling album in 2013. From there I hand picked my own team and crafted my own independent company.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No. Artist come and go. Team members come and go. Some artists don’t have the drive and passion and life slaps them upside the head and they have to give up there dream. Some artists and team members start realizing this actually takes work and commitment and give up because they feel it should just fall in their lap.
We’ve been impressed with PRJ Productions and PUPR LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
