Exploring Life & Business with Ricky Robinson of The Robinson Firm

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ricky Robinson.

Hi Ricky, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am from Bogalusa, LA, a small town of about 10k people.

Growing up, I didn’t know anything about college until I was exposed to it by a friend’s mom. From that point I majored in political science (not too sure why). Approaching graduation, I thought “What am I going to do with this”. It just so happened that there was a law school on Southern University’s campus and I began to research. That path lead me to attending law school.

Before graduation, I narrowed down the state I preferred to practice in order to determine what bar I wanted to take. Texas won and I moved 2 days after graduating law school to begin preparing for the bar. Upon a successful passage on the first try, I got my shot of corporate America by way of Personal Injury in 2018.

Years of working, I never planned to own a law firm, but was kind of forced into it based on prior work experiences. Today, we have helped victims injured in accidents through The Robinson Firm for more than 2 years and it has been the best experience. We have a culture where we treat every client like family.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has not been smooth. Mostly unknown.

Initially there was a gap between college after high school because I had very little knowledge of college. Moving from a small town amongst family and moving to the state capital was a culture shock. Navigating the demands of a young adult life had many learning experiences. Many decisions were made with information that I was learning as I went because I did not have family that graduated from college, nevertheless went to law school.

The journey of opening a firm has been exhilarating but also has come with challenges. It has forced me to become a better version of myself every day for my clients and the firm can only perform as well as I perform as an individual. With that comes the pressure to make sure that my employees and clients are taken care of in the best way.

We’ve been impressed with The Robinson Firm , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I run a personal injury law firm situated in Dallas, TX. We specialize in car accidents, slip and falls, dog bites, trucking accidents, pedestrian accidents, and motorcycle/motorbike accidents.

We are set apart from other firms because we make sure that every client has proper communication and are informed every step of the way. No client is just another number at The Robinson Firm. I am most proud of our slogan “Where Clients Are Family” because we embody that every day. Yes, cases are about the accident in question, but if you are throwing something on the grill, I want to know what it is because it is more than strictly accident talk when you are our client.

Readers should know that we offer free consultations and will mainly speak to me directly. That way we can get an understanding of your case and offer our professional opinion based on your facts. I am a very involved owner and work to make sure that every client has been spoken to. If we don’t win your case, you don’t pay us.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Be sure to have marketing tools so that they are readily available if you are networking. Also, BE YOURSELF. The best networking tool you can use is your personality. Everyone can have a business card, but there is only one you. Make an impression.

If you are looking for a mentor, first make sure that you are a person that is self aware and does not avoid accountability. Seek to have some things already thought out instead of wanting blanket advice.
