Hi Amber, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started when one of my clients came to her with one of my hardest cases in my career. A high end attorney out of San Antonio, Tx came to me and explained his daughter had a serious suicide attempt and she almost succeeded. My job was to find an insurance that would be in-network with her therapist. After speaking with her therapist and learning that most therapists don’t accept insurance, I couldn’t live with that answer. I told Dr. Snell – ” I am ready to go to Austin and advocate or Washington DC to advocate.” That is where FMW was born. With Dr. Snell having relationships high in the insurance world we were able to secure all of the things needed to bring our vision to fruition. This is just the beginning. My mom is on disability due to mental illness and have struggled with it in the past myself. This brought a whole to passion and purpose behind our business. We have created an online mental health platform that provides access to therapy, psychiatry, and psychology at a rate affordable enough for any budget. We have now brought in a wellness aspect so people can go from “just making it through their day” to THRIVING.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This has Absolutely NOT been a smooth road. We have been through countless meetings with people who do not see our vision. Who have shot us down numerous times. We lost our 1st platform of therapists unexpectedly but thankfully Dr. Snell had already been building relationships with other people in the space that we could transition to. We have spent time, money, and what feels like literally blood, sweat, and MANY of my own personal tears. We have done everything with our personal funds to get this off the ground so it has taken a lot longer than expected but we are finally coming to a place where we can truly be proud of what we have built.

They do it completely anonymous so the child never has to feel indebted to anyone. The more people we help give access to therapy, the more rooms we can help transform for children.
Additionally, Dr. Snell has a mentorship program where Foundation Mental Wellness supports young men who are on parole/probation paired with Dr. Snell’s program. Dr. Snell has been able to help change the trajectory of many young men from that path that they were on to now heading toward a bright future. Foundation Mental Wellness supports the mental health side and Dr. Snell keeps them accountable.
