Hi Bola, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hi, my name is Bola, and I’m the Creative Director of Events by Caulcrick based in Dallas, Texas.
We’ve been creating beautiful event experiences for the past 7 years — officially specializing in weddings for 5 years now.
From my experience, a wedding planner is truly there to make the process smoother, less stressful, and more enjoyable for couples. Whether it’s budgeting, vendor management, timelines, design, or coordination, having the right planner can make such a huge difference.
And no, it doesn’t always have to cost an arm and a leg 😊 There are different planning packages depending on the level of support you need.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t always been a completely smooth road, and I don’t think it ever truly is in the events industry. One of the biggest challenges has been managing the unexpected, because no matter how detailed your planning is, events are live experiences, and things can shift at any moment.
Early on, we also faced challenges around coordinating multiple vendors with different working styles and timelines. Communication gaps, last-minute changes, and tight deadlines were some of the realities we had to learn how to navigate quickly.
“Another major lesson has been managing client expectations while still maintaining creative integrity. Every client has a vision, and balancing that vision with budget, logistics, and feasibility requires both sensitivity and experience.
But I would say those ‘struggles’ are also what shaped our strength today. They pushed us to become more structured, more detail-oriented, and more proactive in anticipating problems before they happen. Over time, we’ve built systems and relationships that make execution much smoother, even when challenges arise.
So while it hasn’t been perfect, every challenge has contributed to the standard of excellence we now uphold.

What makes us happy is seeing everything come together on event day and watching our clients truly enjoy the moment they’ve been looking forward to for so long.
There’s something special about seeing a couple smile during their first dance, watching a family celebrate together, or hearing a client say, “I didn’t have to worry about a thing.” Those moments remind us why we do what we do.
We know how much time, emotion, and anticipation go into planning an event, so being able to take that weight off our clients’ shoulders and allow them to simply be present is incredibly rewarding. Seeing their joy, relief, and excitement at the end of the day is what makes all the hard work worthwhile.
